This might be a stoopid question, but...

when you all mention sippy cups.
Do you mean like the sippy cups I use for my toddler?
Or are there different types.
I was just curious.

And, this is kinda embarrassing, but my husband asked last night how long I would be "out of commission" (wink wink, nod nod) and I wasn't sure of the answer on that one either.
I just told him that I probably wouldn't feel like anything for at least 2 or 3 weeks.

Sippy cups are ok. I prefered the water bottles with the "sport lid", kinda hard to describe, but they come on like Propel water bottles, or sometimes you can even find them on just regular water bottles.

As for the "out of commission", thats different for each person. Just when you feel comfortable, is what I was told, and I didnt even ask about it. They went over it on my discharge paper work.

Best of luck to you, I hope this helps.

yes we are talking about a toddlers sippy cup, some drs want the flow regulator left in, some want it out. it helps control how much liquid yyou get at a time. as far as intimacy, i personally was told whenever i felt comfortable( pain level), some drs say 4-6 weeks.

I used the 97 cent Nuby sippies from WalMart, with the no spill valve removed...it's too hard to suck through that valve, puts too much air in your pouch, so the hospital told me to make sure to remove it.  Just remember, it's no longer 'no spill'! I dumped a LOT of crystal light in the early days.  Heehee.

Eh, I think we waited a couple of weeks...not nearly as long as after my c sections.  It hurt, mainly where my incisions were, so it wasn't anything super exciting, but I know that can vary from person to person.

They supplied us with a sippy cup at our pre-surgery class and it was the normal little sippy you get at wal-mart for a toddler.

As for the little bit of extra fun at home, They told us whenever we felt ready.  It was 2 to 3 weeks for me.  It was a slight bit uncomfortable but well.... I was married 30 days before my surgery sooooo.......

Good luck and congrats!

Thanks for much for the feedback.
luckily I have about 15 sippy cups for my 2 year old.  So maybe I will be rockin the dora sippy cup when I return to work ;-)

As for the "commission" question, thanks for the input, I would've asked the nurse, but I felt kinda embarrassed and couldn't find a time to bring it up.
