Hi, I am so happy for you!
I too, was a complusive weigher, so I had to put them up, and bring them out the same day of the week, every week. JUST PLEASE DON'T GET DISCOURAGED IF YOU DON'T SEE THEM MOVE
! I had a lul of 3 weeks, & was dropping inches, then finally the wt. went down. SO, do measure yourself!!
You will be amazed at the changes!

ENDURE,

I have had to take my scales upstairs to my son's bathroom away from myself. I was hopping on every morning and finding it very discouraging and depressing. I have gone down a size finally but lost very little weight in six weeks. I try to weigh myself on Friday's when I am at Curves, normally tho I weigh on Friday and Monday because I am obsessed.

33 lbs lost prior to surgery!

Heck, I got on the scales daily the first couple of months. It was fun to see them going down for a change. Then when the loss slowed down I would just get on 3 times a week. Now, I try to weigh just on Fridays and Mondays. I just pop on the scales at the Dr office I work at on my way into work in the mornings, so it is always the same scale and time of day and in similar clothes.
I'm still trying to lose but more importantly I don't want to gain back another pound so I watch the scales carefully.
I don't see what the big deal is about weighing frequently. We KNOW our weight will flucuate so as long as we don't obsess over an individual number I think it is important to monitor it. But I do think you should do it at the same time of day on the same scales all the time. It was NOT weighing daily and being consious of what my weight was the enabled me to creep up to 320 pounds in the first place.
It was important for me to see those numbers on the scales going down the first few months. It reassured me I did the right thing and kept me motivated to exercise and get in all my protein and water to do my best.

Woohoo!!
I 'officially' weigh in every Wednesday morning (my surgery was on a Wednesday), as my scale has a memory function where it tracks weight for 2 people, then shows me the loss from the previous week. It also has a regular weight function where it doesn't store the previous weight, and I'll use that every other day or so, just because I love getting on the scale and seeing the numbers go down. Occasionally it'll show me up a pound or so, but I can almost always trace that to too much sodium/not enough fluid, I adjust accordingly, and within a day or two it's back down. But officially, I weigh in once a week.
Measurements are SO important!! I took my measurements (bust, chest, waist, hips, thigh, knee, calf, bicep and forearm) the night before surgery, and I do it every month on the 23rd. It really helps when I have a 'slow' weight loss month (10 pounds or less) to realize I've lost inches!!
