Just felt like posting
I have one wee****il I get to join the loser's bench and I really can't wait!!!
I went out and got the magic bullet tonight because of all of the great things I read about it in the RNY forum.
I am trying to find a decently priced treadmill, but not having luck at that so far.
What did you all purchase for your new life style in the week prior to surgery?

Hello, my surgery is that same day, and I guess nerves are beginning to set in or I wouldn't be awake and writing this.  It has taken me 3 years to get to this point, and I am sure it will all work out okay, but there is always that little "what if?" demon sitting on my shoulder.   I am glad that there is a lot of things going on this week to distract me a bit, including my grandson's first birthday party on Saturday.   How did everyone handle those last minute fears?   I know that it will be long long 30 minute ride to the hospital in the pre-dawn hours next week!

Hi Girls,
Well, first off DON"T go out and buy a lot of stuff(protein shake mixes, etc)- your taste buds DO change after surgery! I was told to just get the basics from my buddies on here who had gone before me. I did the protein shakes they require, got Isopure( & didn't like the taste, except the grape) and the rest of the foods you are allowed. Be sure to get small sizes/containers- cause you don't eat much those first few days!(There are some great lil ones out there now to measure/store in) Also, I had alot of sippy cups- one in the bathroom even- to remind me to drink!
Remember- you are not going to feel like doing any exercise but walking- I started out at 271+# and at first all I could do was up & down my halls, but gradually built up to a block, then on & on! I didn't get any exercise equiptment- after nearly 3 yrs. I joined a health club- I am ready now!
RELAX-take a long, hot bath, read something inspiring, and sleep well the night before. Know you are in God's Hands and will get the very best care/team of Dr's. Trust that you are doing all of the right things to enhance and lengthen your life- healthfully! You will do great- and  we are on here rooting for you!

As I was just telling my son at lunch today, I would like to think that I am going into this with as positive of an attitude as I can have, which usually helps in all things.   I know that nerves are going to kick in on the trip to the hospital, but I just have to work through it.   As far as walking, I will probably have issues at first with outside walking, because I live where almost everything is unlevel.   I love being in my own little nature preserve, with the lake, and tall trees, etc, but I may have to go someplace and find some level streets at first.   No matter how I feel this time next week, I will just be glad I am through the surgery.

I live in a pretty level neighborhood, but I get bored walking.  I would like to do the treadmill so that I could either read or watch tv.
