Thank you all for prayers

Thank you all for your prayers and cards (e and snail -mail) during the past few weeks.  It has been a difficult time getting past first the gallbladder surgery then the back surgery.  The back surgery had NOTHING to do with WLS.  I've always had a bad back - degenerative disc disease - so I have always hurt in my back.

But that is behind me for my L2/3 disc!  My microlumbar discectomy was on 8/18 and it was very successful.  My body is adjusting after surgery.  The first week I had to lay flat on my back for 50 minutes then up walking and no more than 10 minutes at a time sitting (including bathroom breaks!).  This week I am up to 20 minutes at a time.  Today I woke up feeling good for a change.  I haven't taken any pain medicine at all today which really gives my stomach a rest!  Still 20 minutes passes and I am ready to get off my butt or feet and lay down again.  My back gets really  tired.  So I haven't posted much because I just get too tired.  Unfortunately, I still have 4 bulging discs that I will have to baby along.  And no more running which really makes me sad!  Surgeon said walking fast was okay but no pounding the pavement in a run/jog any more for me.  But I am ready to get back into the cycle of life and move on!

Thanks again to all of you who sent the e-cards, snailmail cards and pm's.  I have gotten them and really appreciated it when I was REALLY down and out which was alot last week!

THANK YOU!!!!

I am so glad that things are starting to look up for you now. It is wonderful to hear that bit by bit you are getting more and more back to normal. It won't be long and you will be enjoying life once again. Just remember to keep bearing patiently.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
