anyone have any suggestions on medications or comforts for raw belly skin? sounds awful doesn't it?   alternating between powder and vaseline and showering constantly is not working anymore

I would try some diaper rash ointment. I would think that would help raw skin on a grown up, jsut as it helps raw skin on a baby's bottom.

Gail shared this with me so I can't take credit for it but believe me it works!

Get some cheap jock itch spray and spray it on after each shower.  I use TING from WalMart but I've seen it at Dollar General Store too.  It has absolutely saved my life!  It lasts forever too.

When you first start using i****ch out!  It will set you on fire until the infection is cleared up.  Then keep using it.  Dry off good after each shower and spray it on.  I haven't had one episode since Gail passed this wisdom on to me.

I really, really works.

Hope it helps you as much as is did (does) me.

Blessings,

Believe it or not, I used Lotrimine (Sp?) on my kids for raw skin in their diaper area. Dr recommended it and it was the only thing that worked and quickly at that! Wash first, then apply and leave alone!

Hi my cousin told me about the stuff for alethes foot. But first she said to use the blow dryer down under there to get it good and dry. Of course use it in the cool mode. Then apply the athletes foot cream on the area that gets raw. She also says that you could get the spray on stuff but don't use it when you are sore because it will burn. So use it when you get all healed up. Good luck and let us no what works for you!

Desitin--the Creamy kind works wonders.  If you get the regular, it is super hard to come off the skin.  You can put it on at night before bed and hopefully it will be mostly cleared up by the am.  Good luck!

Is it raw because of loose skin? If so, before you put anything on it, go see your doctor! You want this put into your medical record! This is what insurance companies use to consider if they'll pay for a tummy tuck or not.

When I went, I was prescribed an anti-bacterial ointment as well as told to wash there with Tegrin...yeah, the dandruff shampoo. Tegrin dried the area up.

I have battles with this for 10 years. I wasss at the doctors every moneth getting antibiotics and creams. I went to a dermetologist for a mole and she noticed mine. She gave me a script  for miconozole 7 for vaginal yest infections. (any other the counter vaginal 7 day cream will work.) She told me the first thing I HAVe TO DO IS GET AREA COMPLETELY DRY. sHE SUGGESTED A BLOW DRYER WITH COOL AIR. i USE A TABLE FAN THAT IS IN MY ROOM  If it isn't completely dry cream may not work. I apply thin layer under my tummy skin every day after shower. I haven't had  one in 3 years now!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's see know.
