To all Elfster participants....

I've recieved a few emails from people who have yet to get anything from their elf.

Please don't make me have to send you a note to ask you why you aren't doing what you PROMISED to do. I will if need be..but we are all adults here. If you have found yourself in a situation that you cannot fulfil your duty, please email me and request to be taken out of it so I can be sure your person is getting stuff. It is UNFAIR for you to be getting goodies..and at the same time, you not getting your person a darn thing.

So....if you want to be an elf, please BE an elf. If you've changed your mind or your cir****tance have changed email me ([email protected]). If it just slipped your mind, get with it...k? Your person is waiting to hear from you!

Everyone who has written me...let me know if you don't hear something within a week...ok?

Sherry, I was gone and missed the deadline to be an elf.  But if you find that you need to have someone to fill in or re-assign elves.... I am willing to give it a shot.  I am new to OH but I do love the people on here and all the support everyone gives.

I'm so sorry for not replying to your post sooner. I guess I got so wrapped up into what was on Elfster that it just totally slipped my mind. Not a very good excuse I know. I do apologize.

I appreciate your volunteering. What I usually do when there is a deadbeat (and yep..that's what I consider someone who promises to think of their person at least once a month and then doesn't) is I tell them to 'never mind' and then I ask the person who was their Secret Elf to switch over to the one who was neglected. So if person A is buying for person B and person B is suppose to be buying for person C...I ask A to buy for C instead and take B out of it. If I'm left to having to do that, person B will not be asked to participate anymore. Actually...Elfster automatically asks them at the start of the new draw...and I automatically 'decline' on their behalf. I keep a record of the 'declines'. If I decline them, they are declined every future time. If they decline themself, they are invited the next time around.  Before it gets to that point though, I do try to communicate with them via email to try to see if there's a good reason why B hasn't been doing anything for C. There have been instances that it could not be helped (heart attack, coma, darn near died) and everyone understands when situations like that comes up. There have been some though that either don't respond to my inquiries at all or have a half a dozen excuses within a paragraph (too busy, don't know them, they don't post enough, I'm getting old & forgetful, etc). Those are the cases that I ask A to switch to C.

So..until January 2009, there won't be any 'new' elves. In the meantime though, if you aren't on the Hoosier Directory (I'm at work so I can't check to see if you are or not), please email Floyd at [email protected]. Send him your full name, mailing address, screen name, email addy, birthdate, surgery date, anniversary (& spouse name...or sig. other), and phone number(s). I do make it a rule that you have to be on the directory in order to participate in Secret Elf.

Of course, any & all other activities posted on here,  you are more than welcome to join us! Most of them, kids are ok at too...although...there are a few that are best suited for adults only (ornament exchange in December & hot tub party in Feb/March).

Now don't get me wrong..I swear, but to me this was so inappropriate and not sure who to report this to! I hardly think this is a question they would have put on there......I cleaned out part of the word...they had it on there with the complete spelling so there is no mistaking it.

No way. You have got to be joking. Come on people. Why are you ruining this for people? Def. need to kick this certain elf to the CURB!

It was not who I had or who had me...it was a general question on elfster that they had posted...log into yours and go to where you can ask the person who you are their secret pal and see if it comes up for you guys?!

LeeAnn you are right that came up when I tried it.  I clicked on my secret person to see if they had added anything and it says commonly asked Question what the f----do you want.  I agree with Sherri if you dont want to participate just let her know the rest of us are having a good time being secret elf's or at least I am.

I am enjoying the secret elf program....and I did the last time too! I just could not understand how that got on there and if it was just mine it came up on or everyone's. Sherri does a great job with this secret elf adventure and I knew that she would want to know about this.
