Saturday!
Good morning, and welcome to Saturday! I hope you all are planning a good day, because I know I am. Today is Maggie's birthday party. We have family coming from Hammond to visit for it, and I think it will be a good time. Maggie's been looking forward to her party for oh, like, 2 months now!
Yesterday at work at Sears, I was talking with another cashier. She's younger, in high school. I told her I had wls, and she was like, "Wow, I would have never guessed. I just thought you were skinny." YES, SHE USED THE 'S' WORD! I have never been called that in my life. I don't feel skinny, but aparently I look thin enough to be called that, by atleast one person. Wow. That's flooring.
My hubby continues to apply for jobs yesterday. Keep him in your prayers to get something soon. We are on a really tight budget right now. He needs the work badly.

Isn't it a wild and wonderful feeling to hear those words.....skinny, slim, small, and tiny?!?!? I really am so happy to be able to hear those words, and I thank God each day to have given me the opportunity to have wls and have the strength and will-power to make it this far! Mariah told me last night that she wants to learn how to play the trumpet......which is what I played in school. The kids don't get to start band until 5th grade, but she wants to learn now, so she will be better than the rest of them. I told her that I would start looking for one, and that is my object of my searches today. IF anyone has a trumpet or coronet that they aren't using, and would be willing to part with it, please let me know! My daughter is very willing to work hard at praticing on it, so I am willing to give up whatever I can to make her dreams come true. I can't afford a brand new one, so a used one will be just fine for her. Again, if you happen to run across one, and it isn't too darn expensive, please let me know, and I will see what I can do! Thanks to all!!! Mariah says Thank You too!

Morning all! Lachelle I will keep my eyes peeled for a trumpet. Seems like alot of the kids are more into band now. At our schools, when they go into 6th grade they have to either do band or choir. I had one in each! Did you go to the game last night. I wanted to, but the heat was too bad. boy was it a close game. They had it on WLKY Friday Night Lights!
Well my boss just called and needs me to come in and cover the store for her. After being home all week with Braedyn (sick) I am ready to go willingly! i love him to pieces, but it sure takes its toll! Great day wishes and prayers to those in need! I'm out......

oh wow linda i long to be called skinny thats is awsome . and to come from a young person just makes it better...lol
nothing big planned here, going to clean out the garage, get rid of a bunch of crap. do a little yard work in preps for the fall.
birthday parties are so much fun for the little ones. mine are grown now its just invites to the grandbabies parties no more planning them for me. ( the perks i guess) tell her happy birthday from us.

Wow..it's good to have yesterday behind me! I just hope that all of that heals up right this time. Pain-wise, it's not too bad this morning. Alot of the pain yesterday wasn't so much from the surgery as from the whole stomach thing since I've been having these same pains for awhile. Even the nerve-ending thing that Ellen mentioned (btw sweetie..thank you for posting for me!) has been going on for a week or two. If ANYTHING touches certain areas of my belly, then it hurts. I was in BIG trouble the other day because even my loose waistband & very loose shirt was bothering it..and I was at work. I don't think Lillyville would have appreciated me going el natural there! lol. I was glad to get in my truck to go home so I could de-clothe my belly (JUST my belly!).
So...I'm not to shower for 48 hours. I did change the bandage though. There was some bleeding coming through and I want to keep the gauze dry. It's an incision about 3" long with a hook around my belly button. I'm not to lift anything over 10 lbs for 2 weeks. No problem..I'm use to having the guys at work do my heavy work! LOL! Now to start crossing my fingers & toes about next Friday. A colonoscopy may not seem like any big deal to most of you...and if so much didn't depend on this one...and if I hadn't already had a failed attempt in June (because the intestines wouldn't quit having spasms..flopping around) then it wouldn't seem like any big deal to me either. But that is the case so I just really hope & pray that Dr. Fecht can not only get through all of the colon (only about half was gotten through in June) but also through some of the intestines. I don't really want to think about the 'if not, then...' that he outlined. We'll deal with it if/when we have to but until then...I'm crossing all but my boo-boo toe!
Gail asked me to pass on to you guys that she loves you & misses you. I would think she'd probably be on by Monday.
Sandra...I'm glad Tiffany's exploratory went all right. I hope she's feeling better very soon.

Good morning! I slept in until 7:30 which is late for me. It felt really good after completing the first week at school.
Linda, congrats on getting the skinny complement. That must have made you feel awesome! I hope everything goes as planned for Maggie's birthday party. It is so fun to plan parties for little kids. I am glad to hear that both kids had a good first week of school. I'll keep your hubby in my prayers for a job. He must be pretty discouraged without one. You mentioned that he was interested in being a sub teacher. I did that for a while when we moved in the middle of a school year many years ago. I just got up and showered and got ready every morning as if I was going to get a call. That way if I got a call at the last minute I was ready to go and the school didn't have to wait on me. If I didn't get a call I was already to go out job hunting.
There is a craft festival in our town today so my daughter and 7 year old granddaughter are planning to go as long as the rain holds off since it is outside mostly. Should be fun. Great way to get some extra exercise in without feeling like you are exercising.
I stopped by the farmer's market on my way home from school last night and got some beautiful peaches, watermelon, and corn. The peaches were huge! We all shared one that was already ripe. It was so juicy.
Well, I need to get breakfast going. Emily is already complaining that she is hungry. I have tons of wash to get done too. Hope everyone has a great Saturday! Karen

Good morning, Skinny Linda. I know that Scott at church calls me Skinny Brenda at times and I laugh each time I hear it. That sure isn't me. lol I know that Bill's cousin Trudy tells me that she doesn't think I realize how "tiny" I am. Yeah right on the tiny word! lol
Sherri, I am so glad that you are feeling better this morning. I am keeping you in prayers for a speedy recovery and a good test next week.
Lisa, I have been wondering what Janene is up to. I miss seeing her on here with her bright and cheery way of saying things. She is such a sweetie. I love her to death! I have never met her but we have talked.
Nothing much going on here today. Just taking some time to do some housework today. I haven't been doing anything around here and it shows too. lol
Bill is wanting to grill out today. It seems like the perfect day to do it. It has been a while since he has cooked out on the grill. I love having food cooked out on the grill. It has a special flavor to it that you can't get in the kitchen. I know that I am going to have to have him grill some onions today. I brush them with olive oil and put seasoning on them. OMG they are soooo good.
I got my sermon wrote last night. I was moved to doing it on "Emotions" and it sounds familiar doesn't it? I asked God to point me in the direction that He wanted me to go and that is where it landed. I saw a lot of the stuff that was going on here in the sermon. So I guess I must be doing it on the right thing. lol I have decided that I am not going to give up on the baby and not have it in my life. I am going to leave it up to the baby. Trudy told me that Carol's mom and me might be the only sane people in it's life. I know Shawn's mom's side of the family (I have known his mom since she was a very young girl) and they thrive on turmoil and I don't want that for the baby. I am going to play it by ear and God will let me know what to do. I have been told that the baby will know what to call me. It will come naturally and that the baby will know where to come for the love and acceptance too. I am praying that is right. I so want to be a part of their life. I am totally amazed at the fact that people think I do not know that I am the stepgrandmother and not the grandmother. I told some people yesterday that I know that I am Shawn's stepmother because if I was his mother he wouldn't have grown up to be such a a$$hole! lol I gotta call it like I see it!

I need something to keep my brain at bay. I'm nervous as heck this time about this procedure on Tuesday. I have no idea why. It's like almost driving me crazy just thinking about it. I haven't a clue why I'm soo anxious. I'm even more nervous this go round than I was with my RNY.
