1 month post op...down......
25 pounds!! I have not lost anything in the past week though. I have been getting in 900-1000 calories a day. Protein has been between 50-60. I feel like I am eating too much though. I still measure my food when I can and try to only eat 4-5 ounces per meal. I have been tracking my food on sparkpeople.com. I bought a book to track it in, but that is too much work trying to figure out all the calories and such. I am home all day, I babysit, and I find myself wanting to snack, I don't for the most part, I just find something else to do. But when my husband and son are home I don't want to snack because I don't want to have them lecture me for it, yes my 10 yr. old son is on me about my food...if I go to eat something he sais "Are you supposed to be eating that", funny, but it helps me. I have been doing exercise videos, my wii fit and going for a walk every evening. I go for my first fill Sep. 8th. In the meantime I have been searching for a job with no luck. I have had my home daycare for 4 yrs., but it is not a very dependable job, and since I have stayed home I had gained alot of weight, so I want a job outside of the home. My problem is I have only done daycare my whole life. So I have no experience with anything else. I would love to have a job at a vet!!
Well, today is my birthday...the big 28! We are going to dinner at Applebees. I may get a kids meal or share a meal with my son, but unsure what to get....any suggestions?

For lapband, I think 25 lb are pretty good! I started reading your post and thought 'wow! 4-5 oz and only 1 month post-op??'..so then I saw the 'lapband' and had a totally different opinion! Since you haven't even had your first fill yet, I think you are doing fantastic!
If you have questions about that, I would drop Jodi a note. When I think of successful lap-banders, her name comes to mind instantly.
Good luck when you start job hunting. A vet assistance may not require much education/experience. It doesn't hurt to check into it.....

First of all.....
Second of all...you are doing an awesome job with your band! 25 Lbs is a huge beginning! Keep up what you are doing....you are on the right track! I use thewww.dailyplate.com to track all my food etc....it is so easy and keeps a journal for me. I can also log my activity and other things on there...check it out! As for work...check out shelters or clinics and see if they have an internship opening! Even an animal hospital!
Applebee's has a great weigh****chers menu! The portions are smaller and obviously less calories! I love their food!
Glad to see another bandster on here! I hope you have a great birthday!
