Our son called this morning and told us that we are going to be grandparents!!!!!!!! Shawn said that Carol took a home pregnancy test and it said yes. She is going to be making an appointment with the doctor.

Bill and I have been waiting for this moment and it is finally here. We are both so excited and of course we went shopping already. We bought a onsie that says "What happens at Grandma's stays at Grandma's", a hat and booties of Winnie the Pooh and a praying bear that says the Now I lay me down to sleep prayer.

Just had to share my wonderful and exciting news!

Congrats!! You know, parents of young one thinks it is so cool to be a Mommy or Daddy but it is nothing compared to being a Mamaw or Papaw!! You just kinda look at that little one and know that your child created this little being. I can't think of any title I hold that is better than that of being 'Mamaw'!

Congratulations!  Naa, you can't tell you're excited or anything!!!  Won't it be fun?  I'm also in the years where I could be told anytime by one of my sons or DILs we are expecting!  I can't wait and I am sure I'll be just like you .. shopping before the dr. even knows!  he he!!!!

OMG Brenda...that is awesome. My best friend told me that when you have a grandchild, the love you will feel for that baby is so strong....and you will  feel that love for a grandchild like you have never felt love before. She was sooo right! I was fortunate to be in the room when my grandson was born and got to cut the cord, welcome him and kiss him. I litterally though my heart would explode with love. It is so different than what I felt when my own children were born. I guess I expected the same, but boy it sure wasn't. I love this baby....he is my world! I get to see his smiling face everyday and for that I feel so blessed. he cir****tances were not necessarily ideal when we found out, but the love began then. I too went out and bought stuff. I had it kept in a closet until my daughter was at a low point in her pregnancy. Then I got the box out and had her open it. I had gotten her stuff with "I love my mommy" and all kinds of cute things. I even had a baby book in there with a log of all her visits, weights, ultrasounds, etc...for her to log into it. At the bottom was a onesie that said "my Grandma loves me best"  She was so scared and alone...but after that she realized she had me, her sister, and her stepdad to help her in this.
Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!  This is one ride you will never want to end!
