After RNY are we allowed to use things like Splenda? Or is that not an option either?

Also, do you all use chewable vitamins or were you able to take regular vitamins if they were small enough or cut?

Thanks!

As long as you aren't allergic to it like our poor Gail, you are allowed Splenda. some people have problems if they have too much artificial sweetners (diarrhea) so use wisely.

I'm about 4 yr post-op and still do chewable vitamins. I was never told I could switch so never have.

I was given the ok to switch to vitamin pills at 6 months (i was doin liquid though). I would definitely recommend the Bariatric Advantage chewables. The flinstones and centrum chewables made me sick I couldn't do em because they were grainy. The nuts gave me a couple of them to try the flavors and a couple of the new chewable irons to try (this was before my surgeon told me she wants me to see a hematologist and possibly get my iron other ways) and I ended up buying the BA chewables and theyre not grainy. I have some bad teeth issues and I'm able to chew them and stuff really well.

I forgot to mention too that I can't tolerate any of the artificial sweeteners EXCEPT for splenda in small small amounts.
