Yeah! It's Friday!
Good morning everyone. Hope you all have a great day. I start back into the grind today. My extended summer vacation is over. I will have teacher's meetings all morning and then have the afternoon to get my classroom in order. The children will be pouring through the doors on Monday morning for a full day. Normally in the past the first day has only been 1/2 day so this will be new for everyone. I teach deaf and deaf/blind children so it is always a challenge to get the school year started since so many of the kids have limited communication during the summer. Believe it or not, so many families can not sign to their children very well if at all. This will start my 31st year of teaching and this situation has been the norm.
Linda, congratulations on hitting goal! Way to go girl! I was glad to see that you found someone to take your son's case. I'm praying things will be settled quickly.
Sherri, I hope your toe is doing better. I know what you are going through. At least you are not expected to work too long today and you can get off it. Hopefully it is not your driving foot that is hurting.
To those *****cently have had surgery...welcome to this great ride. To date I have lost 186 pounds and sure have a lot more energy to start this school year. Well, it's time to hit the shower. Hugs to everyone! Karen

Good morning to you Karen. I am hoping and praying that your first day back to get school started goes well. I have to let you know again that I enjoyed our conversation on your students. I find it fascinating. I have a lot of deafness in my family and do some signing. Not as much as I would like but enough to get me to be able to converse with my aunt and uncle. My other deaf aunt and uncle are gone now. Uncle Bob is now 91 and Aunt Virginia is 81 I think. I have a cousin who wears 2 hearing aids and my mom was deaf in one ear and had 7% hearing in her "good" ear. I had a deaf dog that I taught some sign language to. She caught on fairly quickly too. She was an amazing dog. She had a lot of health problems and only lived to 5 years old. She was one smart dog let me tell you. I would love to have another deaf one but now with Misty that is pretty much on hold now. Misty is the queen here don't you know!
Nothing much going on here today. I am planning on staying home and doing stuff here. But then we all know the best made plans are often changed all to easily! lol
Have a wonderful day and I am sending you lots of love and hugs. My prayers are going up for you today and always.

Morning "Sisterchicks" & Brothers too,
Hope everyone has a great Friday.I have been hitting yard sales for my daughters neighbor. 3 girls, and hardly any clothes at all. They all out grew everything this summer, they both work, & she was rushed to the hospital last night,so I' m on the lookout. Found alot of things for the size 8, but 10 & 12 not so much. Gonna hit another one on my way to work, so wish me luck. I love a "mission"!!!! I helped at the Caring Center yesturday and cleaned & orginized the baby room- what a mess! There were 8 baby seats! We only get a request every so often, so now we have 4 nice ones.
Went to my "interview' with my new trainer yesturday at Anytime Fitness. I am so glad she is certified and schooled in trainig-she seemed very knowledgeable about my health issues, and had lots of things we can do to help me strengthen & tone. I am looking ofrward to my session Monday!I can't believe I',m excited about exercise!(Scared too- I hate to fail, and I hate to hurt!)
Karen, I sooooo admire you and what you do to help the children. I am praying for your class, and that the families will learn the importance of communicating with their children. Such a loss to them all.It would be wonderful if one of the parents wanted to learn signing so they could teach it to them when they leave- that part of the Amish life I just don't understand. Enjoy decorating- thats part of the fun, huh??!!
Brenda- how is your back doing? I hope better. Remember to ask Bill to give you a back rub. Had a wonderful time getting to know you girls!I hope we get up there again for a visit!
Sherri- Hope your toe is better & you are doing ok. I sent you the pkg. today!
Linda- doing the "HAPPY DANCE" FOR YOU!!!!!! Since I can't seem to figure out how to get my smilies to work anymore, its the best I can do. You have done a wonderful job,l am so happy for you! Now, on to better things for you-all!!!!
I am signed up for the "Cooking with Nessa" class next Thurs! It is the first one I will be able to go to, so plan to see Shanna, & Cindy. Hey girls, lets do coffee/tea/water before?Pm. me & let me know, "k???

Good morning. Thank you, Karen, for all you do with the children at your school. It takes a special person to be able to do that. You are special in your own way for having that ability.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I am headed to work in a little bit. Not much other than that! Take care and have an awesome Friday!

Good Morni...err...afternoon!
Bill has an eye appointment today so I'm a little behind on everything. Afterward, he needed some things so we went to WalMart. Then home for lunch...then had to put ice on my toe. So..now I'm finally getting ready to go into work for an hour or two. I decided to go in a little bit on Sunday too...to make up for all the time I'll be missing next week. I have my appt with Dr. Fecht on Tuesday (intestines), Dr. Bergman on Wednesday (plastics), Bill does with Dr. Price on Thursday (eyes) and I have my minor surgery repair job with Dr. Gupta on Friday. That hardly leaves time for 40 hours, you know?
Toe is still pretty sore..and swollen. I'm wearing croc-type shoes since it has lots of space for the toes. I do slip them off though for long walking (like around the aisles at WalMart this morning).
Well..you all have a peachy day!

Ellen...I'll be looking for that package...the cheese grater & food chopper...?
