Today is the first day of the rest of my life!

First let me say "I love this sight", it has been a steady read for me since I first applied for RNY a year and half ago! Alot of info passes by these forums-the good, the bad-the ugly! I am so glad I found it! After fighting insurance companies all this time with no success and trying every avenue for a source for self pay- TODAY WAS THE DAY! I was able to save about 2/3's (after we sold our home and paid all the bills) and got a couple credit cards for the balance. This morning , before work, I drove from Lafayette to St. Vincents, and gave Dr. Gupta's Office a check for her part!!! They will be calling me with my scheduled date within 7 to 10 days! I feel good about my decision (who needs a new car anyway!)..........just hope the blazer with 113,000 miles holds out for a few more years!!! I have decided it is time to invest in me! My husband of 40 years is totally behind me, all is right with the world! Just hope I don't drive you all nuts with all my questions in the upcoming future!

Congratulations...good for you. This site is great and I have found that in the short time I have been on here, I've gotten so much support and real answers to tough questions. I have Dr. Gupta as well, so I will be interested in following your progress. Good luck...you've got a wonderful support system right here!

Nice job of having enough discipline to put yourself first. For most of us that is a tough thing to do. I wish the best for you and feel free to ask any questions you may have and remember the only silly question is the one you didnt ask.

You are about to embark on the ride of your life. It is one that I wouldn't change for anything. The excitment is fantastic. I have been through so many changes in my short journey. Each one is different and loved each one.

I am so glad that you put yourself first. We give so much to others and it comes a time when we need to put ourselves first for once. Now is your time.
