First Day Back adn GI Thursday

Today was my first day back at work and it sucked!  I am sooooooo tired.   Guess I gotta get use to the grind again.

Also I am scheduled for a GI with small bowel (SP?) follow through for Thursday.  I have not been able to go # 2 on my own for about a month.  My husband actually noticed that it had been a while that I had been taking e-lax at night for an extended period of time.  I really had not given it any thought.  I called and the nurse decided to schedule me for this.  I am just so looking forward to that nasty Barium (sp?) again.

My  first follow up with Dr. C is the 15th and she recomended going ahead and getting it done so she could look at the results then.

Good news, I am down 50 pounds.

Kim...

Oh to have that problem! LOL! You might want to try some Smooth Move tea and see if it doesn't help. I use to get it at Meijer's...of course, it's been 10 months since I've need to use it. It always worked well for me though. And hmmm..they are doing this test because you've needed to use a laxative for ONE month? Jeesh! It's taken 10 months of constant diarrea for them to do it on me! Grrrrr!

Good luck with the test. I hope you only have to drink the barium once. I had to twice..yesterday. Mmmmm..yum! (NOT!)

Thanks Sherri- I will try that.  The told me to try Miralax, but it does not seem to be doing anything.  I just dont know what they would do to solve a chronic constapation problem?

Kim,

I think as long as you ARE able to go with any type of laxative, nothing much would be done (unless you couldn't go at all even with help). I had the chromic constipation too from the time of my RNY until last October. For awhile there, I was taking FOUR Correctols each day. When I discovered the Smooth Move tea, I was able to get off of all the correctols and just enjoy a cup of tea every 2-3 days. Now see, constipation, I could handle! LOL! After 10 months of the other way around though, it is getting extremely old. When do you go for that lovely barium test?

Sounds good, I am o.k. with having to take the laxative, does not bother me at all, I was just hoping it would be nothing invasive!  I have to be at St. V's tomorrow (thurs) at 10 AM.

It was a treat trying to get that big cup down before the surgery, really not looking forward to it now with the tiny stomach!

I have to agree Sherri, I would rather be stopped up :)

Keep ya all posted.
