Hello, Everyone! It's been a long time since I've been here. I just posted pics of my hanging skin and have checked into having plastic surgery to get it removed. My DH got laid off of his job last month so we now have no insurance. I was told today that we could get covered through Medicaid and that Medicaid covers PS if it is "medically necessary". Is this true...in Indiana? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks & God bless! Love, Cindy

Im sorry about your dh getting laid off times are getting hard for everyone.
I have a friend who had medicaid and had her tummy and breast done because of the severe rash from the hanging skin..but its always changing so try the toll free medicaid number and maybe they can help you.
I went to a new family dr friday and we were talking about the plastic surgery and she was telling me they didnt pay for arms and legs.
i thought she meant mediacid but she said thats most insurances have that rule.
I want you to know you have been a great inspiration to me and i think you look fantastic...
wish i could be more help though..
look at that plastic surgeons on here and see what insurances they have excepted maybe that will help..

Your PCP has to have 5 months of documentation of rashes, sores, and etc.... that deem PS medically necessary in order for Medicaid to pay for it. Have your PCP contact Medicaid to have the necessary forms faxed/mailed to them to fill out for surgery approval.

Good Luck
