I walked for 5 minutes every hour that I was awake. I think at the hospital they encourage you to walk every 2 hours.

I think I shot for a mile a day.  I did two miles while in the hospital, and by two weeks out, I was getting 2-3 miles a day.  I know at my 5 week checkup, I had logged 80 miles.

congrats on your surgery.  I walked every two hours when awake.  I tried to make a 15 minute walk each time.  It is harder at first because the energy is level wasnt there for me and didn't come until about a month after surgery.  Just try to walk often if you cant do it all at once.  It is so important and it will really help you.  I walk 3 miles a day now since about 5 weeks out.

Good Luck!
