Hey Gang
I am home from the hospital...I jumped directly in the shower do not pass go lol.  I am feeling lots better but still have a ways to go.  Had to pull the car over twice on the way home for the foamies.  Thanks to all of you for keeping me in your prayers while I was in the hospital and a special thanks to Gail for being such a sweet angle to come see me.  It was a huge relief to know that there have been many peeps to go before me and have set backs and then in the end appreciate their surgery.

Jeannie, when I had my surgery I was suppose to be in the hospital for 3-4 days and I ended up there for 8. I couldn't get the water down, it just wouldn't fit in there. They took another one of those god-awful upper G.I.'s and it found out that there was a lot of swelling so Dr. put me on ice chips for 3 days and boy I was glad of that. Anyway the swelling went down and I could fit the fluid in my tiny little pouchy. haha I have named my pouch Harpo as in Harpo Marx. He was the quiet one of the group and every once in a while he could make a lot of noise which is just like my pouch~hence the name Harpo. I am so glad that your doing better. Just remember one day at a time and before you know it things will come second nature to you and your life will be "normal" again~what ever "normal" is. lol I am glad you are home and just being home is going to help get you to where you are headed. It is hard to adjust when you are in the hospital. Love and hugs to you and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Jeannie,

So glad you are home!! I was the same way...walked in the door and headed straight for the shower!  Keep us posted on how you're doing and feeling, and keep sipping those fluids, and walk walk walk.  Even if it's just around the block.  That's what I did the first days I was home, just walked around the block a couple times a day, and it helped immensely!

Congratulations!!   I couldn't get into the shower fast enough when I got home.  It felt so good.  Start walking as soon as you can, start small and get bigger.    Keep drinking those fluids.  They are necessary.  Welcome to the Loser's Bench.

Welcome home!
It will get easier every day.  As everyone says, sip, sip sip and walk, walk, walk.  It is an amazing journey and gets so much better.
