Why?
when I had my RNY, scrambled eggs were allowed. What they found though was that the pieces of egg would get caught up on the stoma (the connection between the pouch & intestines). This happened to me. It's VERY uncomfortable and it took an endoscopy to remove it. By the time I had my revision (6 months later), they were no longer allowed. I think that was a very good decision.

Kim,
I had to have a revision when I was 6 months post-op because my stoma kept closing up (strictures) and it got to the point that each time an endo was done to open it back up, the stoma would rip (perforate). By then my pouch was ~4 oz. I was started all over at 1 oz. The portion of my intestines that had become brittle was removed and then the intestines attached at a new opening in the 1 oz pouch.
Have you been to your surgeon recently about your problems? Have you had an endo to be sure there isn't a cause to the foods not staying down (such as a stricture)? I know the further out we get, the closer we have to watch things because we can easily slip back into bad habits. Could this be the case? If not, has your pcp checked yout thyroid lately? The really best advise you can receive is for you to start back with the basics and see if that doesn't help your situation. That...and talk with your surgeon & nut.
Good luck,
Sherri
