Do NOT get on the scale more than once a day.  Weight fluctuates dramatically throughout the day, depends on what you've been eating and drinking, sodium, everything.  My personal rule is that I will only get on the scale in the morning, when I'm nekkid, after a bowel movement.  I try to only weigh once a week, but I find myself checking it every other morning.  You're still so early out, you could still be swelling from the surgery fluids.

I know you're excited to see how much you lose in the first week or so, but don't weigh midday, it sets yourself up for just this scenario.

Hugs!

I totally agree with Amy. Your weight changes during the day. Make sure when you weigh yourself it is about the same time each day. I do it when I get up in the morning (after potty time) and before I take my morning meds. I don't weigh naked but I have my nightgown on. I figure that doesn't weigh much. haha If you continue to do that (weighing during the day) you are setting yourself up for disaster!

Yep Yep must say that i agree with them. I'm always 2 to 3 lbs heavier by the afternoon to evening time.  Just the way it is.  So I wouldnt worry about it and I diffently wouldn't be getting on the scale any more then once a day and less if you can.  Heck if ya have to have somebody hide it and only bring it out for you once a week lol.

I have from the very beginning weighed myself once a day...as soon as I get up but after I go potty and before I drink a single thing and before I get dressed (so yep, nekked here too!).

What causes my weight to fluctuate..and probably yours too:
WATER!
Well..before it hits the potty anyway. So...on my way to the doc's office, I don't drink! And I go potty one more time before going in there to get weighed! And still...I'll be a few pounds more. Why?
CLOTHES!
Do you have any idea how heavy jeans and tennis shoes are?? Not that noticeable if you are just putting them on but if you are getting weighed and every pound counts??

One other thing....and this one is CRUCIAL!
LACK OF SLEEP.
If I have a crappy night's sleep, after I do my morning regiment, I will weight AT LEAST 3-5 pounds heavier than the day before! Now..let me get a good sleep that night and it will be back down the next day.

Because your weight can fluctuate so much even from day to day (lack of sleep, eat salty things/water retention, PMS, etc), if you are going to weigh yourself daily, you have to come to grips with the idea that it will fluctuate. What I do is not count a loss as a 'loss' or a gain as a 'gain' until it has repeated three days in a row (I work in a lab and triplicate results are what we target..so that's why I choose three times). It keeps me a little on the sane side with my weight.
