panni
has anyone just had a panni removal and been happy with it?
I understand the panni just removes the skin under the belly button? I would think that some of the skin above the belly button would flaten out a little once you are put back together. Is this a correct assumption? Also did it raise the mons area at all? Did anything happen to your belly button?
I am really nervous about this and freaking out. I got approved today for the panni removal and they are scheduling my surgery.
Any comments/advice would be great.

Hello,
I had the panni removal with a hernia repair! I am completely satisified with my results! I could not afford any extras to go for the abdomnioplasty! I did have some of the mons area lifted as well! My surgeon went from hip to hip and went down into the mons area with the cut! I had 16lbs removed! I didn't have any complications per say! Some of my incision was stubborn with its closing and I did have my drain tube for a while! I would do it all over again! Who is your surgeon? I had Dr. Grasse and loved her! Good luck! Hugz Dawn I was also approved through my insurance!
EDITED to add: I did lose my belly button, but I am ok with that! After that surgery I had my gallbladder removed so my surgeon gave me a fake belly button! LOL!
I also have what I call some muffin top, but I can accept that and would rather have it than the panni! Prior to surgery- panni- I was a size 22 and afterwards after healing a 16-18 depending on the brand! Hope this helps! Hugz Dawn

I MY RNY!!!

Thank you for the info. That is what I am afraid of is the muffin top. I have quite of bit of skin between my chest and my belly button.
I am not concerned about my belly button really. I would like to have it but if I don't that is ok.
Did you have to pay extra for the mons work?
I had my RNY in Feb 07. I wore size 28/30 and I am now in size 14. The surgeon says I should go down to 10 after my removal.
My surgeon is Dr. Stephens in Fort Wayne at Summit Plastics.
Do you have any pictures you are willing to share of your experience?
