Gallbladder Issues?
I have been miserable today ... I am one week pre-op and ate Mexican last night for dinner. This morning I was sick to my stomach and vomited stomach acid/bile for several hours. (To make matters worse, I'm out of town at a friends' house!)
I had a galbladder scan a week ago for my pre-op testing and haven't heard that there were any issues, but my parents, who have both had their gallbladders out, think that's the problem. I'm going to call the dr tomorrow ... but has anyone on here had galbladder issues? Do my symptoms sound like that? Yuck!

You're symptoms do sound like gallbladder. They may be able to take your gallbladder out when they do your surgery. My surgeon couldn't get to mine safely. I have a large gallstone in mine. She is going to take out my gallbladder after the first of the year. Do call your doctor. They will know the results by now.

Well not only the vomiting but I remember having the most horrible pain in the back going thru to my chest.. sometimes radiating down the right side.. There has also been a virus going around where my granddaughters and their mom and dad threw up and ran a fever last week. TELL your Dr so he is aware and can make decisions...Linda Kay
I got the 2 for 1 surgery deal when Dr. Inman took out my gall bladder at the same time as my RNY. I didn't even know I had problems with it. I was suspicious when the gall bladder ultrasound took nearly 45 minutes but forgot about it when no one contacted me about the results. On the morning of surgery, Dr Inman came in and told me she was going to be removing my "diseased" gall bladder. I said that no one told me about it and she said it wouldn't have made any difference in the treatment (removal) and would have only made me worry.
I hope that if it is your gall bladder causing your problems that your surgeon can remove it at the same time. Who needs to go through recovery twice?

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
I also got the 2-for-1 deal. I'd been having issues, but my pcp didn't believe it was the problem. If it looks bad, your surgeon will take it out. Just discuss it with them preop when they come in to have a chat with you. If your labs are bad, they will mention it to you anyway. I was in the middle of an inflammation period when they took out my "rather diseased" gallbladder. He said it was just a matter of time before it REALLY started to cause me problems. So don't be afraid to mention it since they are already in that area.
I got the 2 for 1 deal too! I thought my right side was always sore, so when they did the pre-op testing they found that I had stone... no symptoms but my sore right side... but my back hasn't hurt since my surgery (I just assumed it was from not carrying around all my extra weight!) but after reading some people have back pain, maybe that was it!
