Additional Vitamin D supplement?
At the Kokomo support group the other night, Cindy (one of the dieticians) was there, and supplementation came up. She said that they are seeing some Vit. D deficiencies, and it turns out that some of the calcium citrate supplements are not high enough in Vit. D. She specifically mentioned Tropical Oasis, which my dad takes. She said they want us to get 1000 IU's of Vitamin D from our calcium citrate.
I came home and checked my bottle of Bariatric Advantage calcium lozenges, and in 4 lozenges, I only get 400 IU's of D! I need to email her and see if we can take just a Vit. D supplement, or if we need to find a different calcium. I am drinking 3 8oz glasses of milk each day, so I know I'm getting some Vit. D there. I just don't want to be deficient.
Anyone else heard about this?

I had some labs run at 6 months because of my issues and showed up Vit D deficient, of course that was in January too sooo winter tends to make folks a lil deficient as well. I say keep doing what your doing unless otherwise told to do something different by the nut or your surgeon tell you otherwise.
They had me do 50,000 IU of Vit D for 3 weeks and then every other day for a month.
