Picking your brains!!??!!
Hi guys, have a question for you all. After 2 yrs of fighting the Insurance Company I have decided to self pay. Went to bank to apply for a loan last week. Have talked with alot of people, most have had the procedure done at Carmel St. Vincents (which I have an apt. for July 31 for the Simanar and an Apt. with the Shrink). 2nd time for this, but was 4 months past a year, so have to go thru it again. Then I ran into an old friend over the weekend that had the Roux en Y Procedure done at Clarian Hospital in Indy with Dr. Samer Matter. He praised the hospital and the Dr. and he was also a self pay and his cost there was $20,000 verses $25,000 I was quoted at St. Vincents. Has anyone went to Clarian and had Dr. Matter? Give me some feedback please. I want a Dr. who knows what their doing, and a caring Hospital.............we are not wealthy, and $5,000 less would knock off a couple years off my payments! Thanks! Spike
I had the RNY last December at Clarian North in Carmel and Dr Mattar was my surgeon. I had insurance coverage, and some mild difficulties, so don't know about the cost for a self pay normal procedure. I am very, very happy with Dr. Mattar and with Clarian. He is wonderful and I trusted him with my life. I would choose him and the Clarian program again in a heartbeat. Clarian has informational sessions often, and support groups in Indianapolis the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Go to www.clarian.org and click bariatrics under quick links. ~Bev
Although Dr Matar did not do my surgery (they were just opening up about the time I had mine done), I switched to him and the Clarian after care program because it is so much better than the one I was in. They have great nutritionists and support groups. They even offer periodic cooking classes so we can learn how to cook flavorful foods that will meet all of our nutritional needs as well as taste great! I recommend them to anyone thinking about wls.
