Question about Rooms at St. V's
We have lived here for 13 years and still love it. I work in Fort Wayne though, and the drive seems to get longer, especially with the gas prices!
Thanks to everybody for the information. Yesterday we bought ME new pajamas, just in case I can room with him. LOL, he's having surgery and I'm getting the new jammies!
Keep us in your prayers.

I would bet you have no problem staying with him. I'm a nurse and the hospital doesn't want definately say that you can always have a person stay with you because there are so many factors that can affect that decision -- such as the patient's current condition, bed space, number of cots available, etc. But I would say that barring any major complications, staying shouldn't be a problem. I would also let the nurse know you would like to stay overnight once you get to the room so they can get you a cot to sleep on. They usually only have a limited supply of them.
Actually now that I think about it, several years ago my Mom took me to the ER late one night and I unexpectedly got admitted to the bari unit. It was after midnight when we got to the floor and all the cots were gone. My Mom was just going to sleep in the car, but they took a mattress off an empty bed so she could stay in the room with me. It was more than I expected the to do at that hour!
Good Luck,
Jennifer
Tbonk - Mrs. Pickett here! Are you a former student of mine? Since you called me Mrs. P. I figured you had. Glad to hear your surgery went well. Had my pre-op class yesterday and for some reason when I woke up in the morning, I just had a peace about me concerning the surgery. Please email me and let me know who you are. [email protected] - I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Jackie
