Holiday World...

Hey everyone!                                                           First...THANK YOU JACQUI!!! Jacqui did a wonderful job coordinating everything and got us some wonderful discounts. Jacqui...please thank Pat again for us for the wonderful reception! I still cannot get over that ObesityHelp.com sign that they had made for us! How cool is that?!?!                                                                            So..for those of you who did not go, here's the deals Jacqui managed for us....                           Holiday World Tickets: $26.95 /person (a $10 savings from the DISCOUNTED price that we could had gotten them from Santa's Lodge....so...a pretty terrific savings!).                                            Comfort Inn in Rockport: $40 savings per night!                  Breakfast buffet at St. Nick's Restaurant: $2.95 per post-op...a $6 savings!                                      Plus..Holiday World gave us sheets of coupons when we checked in!                                                                                                             Bill asked me to tell you all that went that he really enjoyed meeting you all. Holiday World was perfect for Gail, Bill & I. With out medical 'stuff' right now, it was easy to manuever, enjoy...and leave when we had enough. We would had loved to have spent more time with you all but my tummy told me when it was time to go back to the room & relax. Sorry. But....nice to see: Lachelle (& nice to meet Jimmy), Jacqui & Luci, Christina & her family (and congrats on the bamabino!), Shanna & family, Bev & Bruce (we all really enjoyed chatting at the Alamo!), and Brenda & Floyd (as always, a pleasure!). And Miss Gail....we really enjoyed your company!! Would ya'll believe that represented well over 1,260 lbs LOST?!?!?! I hopeI didn't leave anyone out here. Hey Sherri thanks for the info! SOunds like you all had agreat time! Hope you do it again sometime when I can go. I usually don't like to go to amusement parks because they cost to much for me since I don't ride much. Sounds like Jacqui did great as far as saving money for all! And what a total on the weight loss 1,260lbs! Amazing! Well just wanted to let you all know that I appreciated the news on the trip! Thanks again Sherri!

I agree that Jacqui did a wonderful job setting up a fantastic outing for us.  She even got the weatherman to cooperate.  How great is she?

After leaving the park last night, we had dinner with Bev and Bruce, and Jacqui and her daughter.  Jacqui's parents were at the restaurant too, so got to meet them.  Unfortunately Troy was sick so we didn't get to see him this time.  Hope he's feeling better today.

Today was another splendid day, too.  We went over to Kentucky, got cheaper gas, and bought tons of sugar free desserts that we can't get here.  Then we headed to French Lick to see where LaChelle spends all her time.  We were there forever and had such a great time.  We got to spend alittle time with LaChelle when she was on a break and her supervisor treated us to a fantastic lunch.  She gave us directions on a different way home and it was faster and less traffic.  Thanks LaChelle, for a great time today.

We just got home at 8 o'clock tonight.  I'm not sure whether it was all the fun at Holiday World or the drive home, but my back is out and I can hardly move.  Hot tub here I come tonight.  That should make it better.

It was great seeing so many take advantage of the great Holiday World trip and hopefully more can make it next year for our 2nd Annual.

First thing I want to say is THANK YOU SCOTT for "baby sitting" so we could go have a wonderful weekend with so many of our OH buddies. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents here.  It really was a wonderful time.  That was my first time EVER at a water park and it will NOT be my last.  I had more fun than I thought would have been possible just "playing" in the water.  The fact that no one stared or pointed and laughed at me in a swimsuit was pretty amazing to me too. I rode all 3 roller coasters and have the bruises and pulled muscle to prove it.  I'm definately too old for wooden coasters.  I'll try the new suspended ones at the next park, maybe that will be a smoother ride. Jacqui...tell "your daughter" that she is my new best friend and I can't wait to see her again.  She is such a delight to be with. Please thank her for hanging out with me and showing me how to have so much fun in the sun and surf. Tell Troy we really missed him. I hope he's feeling better and we REALLY hope he can come to the clothing exchange like we talked about.  That would be the greatest! LaChelle...Please thank Terry again for the wonderful lunch. My goodness they have a nice buffet and even had a sugar free dessert.  It was Floyd's favorite too - how'd they know? It was nice meeting Jimmy.  I noticed his leg was bothering him after lunch, I hope he's feeling okay today.  Christina...So nice to meet your family.  I'm so glad your daughter enjoyed herself at her first amisement park. You couldn't have picked a better one to start with. It was wonderful wasn't it? Bev and Bruce...Always nice to see you two. Hope to see you at support but understand if you can't make it. See you July 19th at the clothing exchange. Shanna...Nice to see you and the family again. Glad you didn't get washed out at the campgrounds. Hopefully we'll see you at the clothing exchange too. Gail...So nice to see you out enjoying some of the fun things in life. Hope you'll join in some of the other things going on this summer. Sherri...Once again you had to come to our rescue. Thanks for the loan of the towel. I swear I lost all my organizational skills along with the weight.  I need to start making lists for everything again. Tell Bill it was nice to see him and I'm sorry we didn't get to chat more.  There was so much going on and once we got to the park everyone just seemed to disapear into the crowds.  I'll check my schedule so we can do dinner this week one night. I know I'm booked Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and you're booked Friday or Saturday.  I guess that leaves Tuesday or next weekend.  We'll talk! If I missed anyone that was there sorry but I didn't make a list so as I just said can't remember anything and more.  We enjoyed seeing everyone. For those that didn't make it, hope to see you at the clothing exchange on the 19th. 

OMG, DID I EVER HAVE A BLAST! This was the best time.......I loved seeing everyone, most definitly! Sorry I didn't get to social with everyone but with the 3.5 YO and the Teenagers I figured I would keep them out in the park! I got to ride ALOT! I have been there many times and have never rode so many rides before! AND I FIT! All 3 rollercoasters and most of the water slides...BAKULI, Watatubee, Zimbabwe, ALL 3 otto-ron-go slides and alot of the slides on the KIMA BAY. WOW the Voyager was amazing.....We had a bad storm hit right at 8:15 ( 15 min. before the park closed so we got stuck in the gift shop until 9:15) we got back to the campsight and was a little damp, but OHH well It was an adventure! Terry is such the handyman and the camping guru! He had BUNGEE cords for everything! The kids seem to have had a blast, also.  Thank you again Jaqui for all the time and hard work you put together for our outing.....Breakfast buffet was awesome and at 2.95 wow! Too bad I can't eat more than a couple bites of anything. Now I can't wait until our Campout....I am a seasoned camper now and I am ready........Great seeing everyone....Everyone looks amazing.....XOXO Shanna

I just wanted to thank Jacqui for everything again in setting the trip up! You did AWESOME!!! Love ya!  And, for those that didn't get to come thins year, PLEASE make sure you do next year! It is so much fun and so worth it! Floyd and Brenda, so great seeing you at the casino yesterday! I am glad that my directions helped out.  That is the shortest way to go to Indy, so I am glad that it saved you lots of time and gas!  Maybe when we do get to have a gathering here at the resort, several of you can drive down from Indy as a caravan.  It is the best and shortest way to come.  Glad you enjoyed your lunch.  Terry asked me after you all came back if you enjoyed it.  He wanted to make sure that I told you all to come back again soon! And, if you do, please bring loads of friends with you!!! Sherri,Gail, Shanna, Christina, Bev, Floyd, Brenda, Jacqui.........thank you all for making this weekend such a blast!!! It was a very needed and deserved break away from the monotony! The time spent at the meals with everyone was just wonderful, and great to socialize with everyone just like always!  Seeing each other at the park doing things that would otherwise not have been possible before wls, well, there is just no other words to describe it other than FANTASTIC!!!! It is amazing how much we come out of our shells after the weight is shed.  And what better way to prove it to ourselves than to just get out and do it!!!  Even Jimmy, who is terrified of heights, and doesn't like roller coasters at all, came out of his shell as well, and rode 4 rides!!! Talk about a record for him!  And then of course, the water park.........we couldn't keep him off the slides! LOL He had so much fun as well, and wanted to thank everyone for making his day as well.

I can't wait for the next time.  It was so wonderful to get to see everyone.  Thanks again!

New to posting - your weekend sounded wonderful - we love Holiday World and would love to join everyone next year if you are taking newbies - by then I'll be an oldie - my surgery is in 8 days and this board is keeping my nerves in check.  Enjoy the rest of the summer and keep me in your prayers.  Jackie

We had such a good time at Holiday World.  Thank you Jacqui for arranging everything -- it was wonderful.  We had never been to Holiday World and I can't wait to go back!!                             It was wonderful to meet many of you for the first time.  I thought we would all see each other more around the park, but didn't.              It was great to see Brenda & Floyd, and Sherri & Bill again, and I got to meet and visit with Gail.  I was glad that Bruce and Bill got to visit while I was in line.  The first time we met Sherri and Bill, Bruce and Bill were at opposite ends of the table and only got to say "hi" to each other.    Brenda and Floyd, I'm glad we ran into you at the end of the day and got to have supper with you, Jacqui and her daughter.  It was great to get to know Jacqui and for all of us to compare notes on our day.               
Bruce rode all 3 coasters.  We rode a few rides together, but spent lots of our time in the water park.  It was just so much fun, and the lazy rivers were so relaxing.  I loved them.  The weather was perfect.             
We also drove into Kentucky Saturday morning to fill up with cheaper gas, and looked for some of the foods Jacqui told me about, but I couldn't remember brands, and nothing jogged my memory.  (I'll write to you Jacqui, and ask again.)  We meandered our way home through the western side of the state, spent some time looking at places to hold the rehearsal dinner when our son gets married in October.  Then cut over to Lafayette for supper and ran some errands.  It was 10:30 by the time we got home!             I definitely hope we can make this an annual outing.  And those of you that weren't able to come this year, hopefully you can join us next year.    ~Bev

I agree Jacqui did an awesome job at getting everything together for us...can't wait until next year when I can actually ride the rollar coasters. We had a great time and a much needed vacation. It was good seeing everyone and meeting the ones that I had not met.  ****I went to the doctor today for our 1st ultrasound and everything is good with the baby. We also found out that we are 12 wks & 2 days pregnant instead of 9 wks. WOW!!!
