HOLIDAY WORLD plans

Hello,

Who is going to Holiday World on Friday, and what are your plans?    We have not been there before - is one day enough or should we plan to go back on Saturday?   Are you going to the main park and the water park, or just one or the other?  

We (husband Bruce and I) are driving down on Thursday afternoon, Google says it's a 5 hour drive so the time difference will help.   We have reservations for Thursday and Friday nights at the Comfort Inn in Rockport.  Thank you Jacqui for arranging the discount!   Sherri - if your supper invitation is still open we would like to meet the group for supper Thursday.

I just changed our reservation to include Thursday night too.  Brenda and I are driving up after work Thursday and staying at the Comfort Inn in Rockport too.  I almost forgot that Bruce and Brenda would do the coasters together so I don't have to.  LOL  We weren't going to go until Friday because of CJ, but Scott is going to stay at our house and dog sit.  We've never been there either so really looking forward to it.  Hopefully we can all have dinner together with Sherri, Bill, Gail, and whomever else wants to join us.

We always love spending time with you and Bruce, so really looking forward to it.

We are camping at Lake Rudolph....Thursday, I am wait list for Friday night. I am bringig my 2 kids and niece and dog....Can't wait to see everyone :) xoxo shanna

Bev...of course! You & Bruce and anyone else is more than welcome to join us!! Give me a call on my cell phone so we can figure out a time once that everyone gets into town. We were wanting to check out Buffalo Run. I think Floyd & Brenda may be getting in ~6:30 so it'll probably be ~7-ish or so. That's our time so it'll be 6-ish their time. The restaurant is suppose to be right down the road from Holiday World. After we get into town & get settled, I'll check out exactly where it is so I can give directions better to anyone who calls me. Sherri

I have to work Thursday night now, because I took Friday off.....but I get off work at 7 pm EST/6 pm CST (the time at Holdiay World).  It takes me 45-50 minutes to get there.  I am only 45 miles away, so it is a short drive.  As far as who is coming with me.........right now that is a toss=up. DH is having a bad week now, and doesn't want to come, so who knows. I may be by myself for another event, just like always.  Anyway, I will try to get there on Thursday evening and eat with everyone.  I am really considering bringing my tent and camping out.......there is a campground only 15 minutes away that is alot cheaper than Lake Rudolph, so who knows. It will be interesting either way! LOL   Can't wait to see everyone! See you soon!

Guys I am so sorry I've been missing in action.  I have been so busy at work and at home.  It's that time of year.  I absolutely can't wait for Friday!  Luci is coming with me but Troy has to work.  I won't be able to make dinner on Thursday.  Luci's last ball game is that night and she'll be getting her trophy.  You know I can't miss that! I think you'll like Buffalo Run.  The burgers are fantastic and if she offers her chili, it's the BOMB!  She has several different burgers like elk and of course buffalo.  I think the chili is made with buffalo meat. The restaurant at Santa's Lodge is good too.  The manager there, Larry May, is a good friend of mine and really, really wants to have bariatric surgery.  If you see him, give him some encouragment.  You won't find a nicer guy. I'm expecting a call from Holiday World today to set up the final plans for Friday.  I'll post on here where the table will be located and such.  We could all meet up for breakfast at Santa's Lodge.  I think they have a breakfast buffet.  I'll find out and post about it too. As far as two days, we usually spend the entire day at Holiday World.  We start out in the water park and spend most of our time there.  Then we change and go out to the main park.  Luci isn't tall enough to ride everything but she can ride most things.  She can't ride any of the coasters.  I plan to ride the Voyage for the very first time and am scared to death about the thought of it!  Luci will just have to stand by and watch.  Lord knows I've done it enough times for her when I was too big to fit into anything.  She'll be ok with it. The park offers $20 next day passes.  You have until you leave the park to purchase them.  If you feel like you didn't get everything in during the one day, you can get a next day pass on your way out.  We live right here so we've never felt the need to do that.  One day always wiped us out before!  Who knows what will happen now that I'm lighter. I know this week will crawl by because I'm so stinking happy you guys are coming here!  I can't wait to see everyone!  Watch for my post sometime today updating the event! Jacqui, I'm really looking forward to this get-away as well! I think breakfast at Santa's Lodge is terrific..but of course I would since it's right there where we'll be, huh?  At this point, I'm really hoping Bill's eye clears up FAST or it may be a just girls road trip.                  I have the tote that you brought clothes to Ellen at the last clothing exchange in (many fit my daughter & step-daughter that didn't fit Ellen's daughter). Would you like for me to bring it with me or just hang on to it for the next exchange? I don't mind either way so totally your choice.                      See you Friday!    Sherri

WOW...would love to join all of you for the fun on Friday but Kenny has to work and I have a job interview (yay) ...but maybe next time! i can't wait to ride a coaster this summer! it'll be the highlight of my summer i think...haven't done it in YEARS! HUGS GUYS! have a BLAST jen :)
