For the past 4 days now I've been realy nauseous and not felt good at all---haven't really ate anything but have been drinking.  I called my PCP this morning and he wanted me to come in at 2 to see what the problem was---so to make a long convo short he thinks I'm loosing too much weight too fast.  REALLY?? Is there such a thing??  I am still in shock---I don't really know what my goal is from my surgeon but I thought losing 194 lbs in 5 months was damn good!!!  He sent me to get some lab work and a urine test (I couldn't pee--I never can) so I guess I'll find out the results next week.  He said maybe I'm malnutritioned---THAT I can see but losing too much weight too fast???  Eh I'm still not too sure about that one.  I go back to Indiana next month for my 6 month check up with my surgeon so hopefully she'll have some answers for me.  Seriously can you loose too much too fast??? ~Angie!

Angie, Did you have the DS? It and RNY are both intended for fast weight loss. If you are in doubt, please call your surgeon's office. I would also make sure they know that your pcp ordered that bloodwork..it'll keep them from having to order it again next month. I had always heard that your body knows when to slow down. So far, that holds true in 99.9% of the cases that I've heard about. I also heard that the more you have to lose, the more you lose very quickly. Personally, I wouln't get worried about it...but I would contact Dr. Inman's office if for nothing else, peace of mind. My motto ALWAYS, If in doubt call your surgeon!     Sherri

I was told also by my wls doctor that the more weight that you have to lose the faster it comes off also. He told me that when I told him that others were losing faster than me. He also told me at the time that the younger you are the faster you lose also. He was very tactful when he told me that one!! I give him that, he was very delicate when he mentioned my age. I of course don't care because I have earned every gray hair I have in my head. haha  I agree with Sherri, I would make sure I called my wls doctor and talked to them. Just make sure that you mention everything the doctor did and said. I would also double check on the fluid intake since dehydration also causes the nausea and feeling icky as a whole. I didn't think I was dehydrated and it came back in the blood work that I was. Some of the signs of dehydration is dizziness, weakness, headache, leg cramps, disorientation, dry mouth and nausea. And you did mention that you have problems with urination.
