I went shopping over the weekend trying to get things I need for after surgery.  I was at Walmart and was looking for the Citracal chews, but didnt find any.  What are some other alternatives that we can have.  I remember the nuts saying not to use Viactive.  What does everyone else use? Jenny

If you want something chewable, Bariatric Advantage offers losenges.  I don't care for the taste of them  9they come in 3 flavors - chocolate, mint & cinnamon). I know you can order the Citrical Creamy Bites at drugstore.com for $7.49 each and they have all three flavors (chocolate, lemon & carmel).  I'm told you can still get them at Meijer for around $8.49 or $8.99 a box.  This might be more cost effective once you consider shipping & handling if you already shop at Meijer. Good luck

Jenny, I searched all over and couldn't find the right chews either.  I did finally find a liquid calcium citrate at Costco (they also had it at Meijer).  I've been mixing it with a little juice and it's not too bad. Hope this helps, Beth

Jenny, I cannot stand the liquid calcium from costco. You can get the citracal creamy bites at Kroger in their pharmacy dept. I have found them there on sale for as low as 5.50 a box. they are delicious!!

I get cherry flavored chewable calcium from GNC. It's part carbonate, and part citrate. So, the NUT said it was okay, because it was atleast part citrate. I just couldn't tolerate the creamy bites,... too sweet for me after surgery.

Thanks all!  This gives me some ideas.  We need to patent 1 single pill that has all the daily requirements that bariatric patients need in their vitamins, we could just take 1 pill and get it all, calcium, multi-vit., B-12.  LOL!
