CARLA,

FROM WHAT I KNOW, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO SHARE OR SELL A C-PAP MACHINE. I HAD A FRIEND TRY, & SHE GOT IN TROUBLE.  THE BEST THING HE CAN DO IS CALL THE LOCAL SALVATION ARMY OR RED CROSS, THEY WILL HELP GET WHAT HE NEEDS. I HOPE HE GETS ONE RIGHT AWAY! YOU CAN ALSO ASDK YOUR PCP ABOUT HOW TO GO ABOUT GETTING ONE- I KNOW MY MOM'S WAS FREE, & SHE GOT LOW-COST MEDS. THRU THE MAIL, WITH HELP OF MEDICAID/MEDICARE. YOU ARE SUCH A GOOD FRIEND TO THINK OF HIM & HIS NEEDS. (((HUGS))) ELLEN

Carla, I have one that I do not need anymore.  Your friend would have to take it somewhere to have it set to their levels, and certified that it works okay for them.  It  isn't even a year old, and I only used it twice before I had surgery.

Ellen,  You are correct, it is illegal to resell/give away a cpap machine--since it is a prescribed medical device.  You can however sell/give away cpap masks and accessories.  It is an FDA law.
