Getting closer

Well I have 5 days until my surgery (Aug 28th)  I am getting so scared and nervous.  I sit and wonder if I'm doing the right thing and then other times I know I'm doing the right thing.  I know this is what I want but doesn't not make it any less scarier for me  Seems like yesterday that I was called and had my date and yet it was over a month ago, gee did time fly by fast lol.  Is there anybody or does anybody know somebody that will be having surgery on the 28th ?

Where are you having your surgery?  What time? Relax, close your eyes and it will be over before you know it.  Life is great on the losing side.

oooops I did forget to put that in there lol.  I am having it done at St V's and my surgery time is at 8 am.  Thank goodness its first thing in the morning I dont think I could sit around all day waiting for it to happen lol.

Well mine is at 12:30 so I will be pulling for You!  Please be quick and don't make me wait any longer than necessary Jeff

Hi Ulisha, My surgery is on the 28th at St. Vincent in Carmel.   I understand what you are going through.  My surgery was originally scheduled for July 20th but was canceled about 7 days before.   I thought in the intervening month that I had most of my fears and doubts worked out.  Getting in the car this morning I realized I was nervous and it was about the surgery.  This nervous energy can also be defined by my attitude as excitement about a new beginning.  My sister in law is a surgeon who was trained in Russia.  She said they are taught that 50 % of ensuring a positive outcome for a surgery is convincing the patient that they will be ok.   I am trying to focus on the positive outcomes that I have read about here.  Some are truly amazing.  Almost all the outcomes are better than the futures that awaited the person without the surgery.  Turn the surgery over to your Doctor and your higher power.  You and I need to be focused on where we are headed after surgery.  Jeff

CONGRATS Ulisha and Jeff!  i am soooo excited for you....glad to hear y'all will be surgery buddies...I hope I have a surgery buddy! Hang in there and keep us up to date on ur loss!

Thanks you guys. I am always on here reading the positive stuff the all these wonderful people are posting,  Well Jeff looks like I will be seeing you in the halls next tuesday then.  I will do my best not to make them run late for your surgery

Ulisha & Jeff,  Hi!!   I met my "surgery buddy' walking the halls after surgery- 1 butterfly at a time-& we still are keeping in touch- it will be 3 yrs. in Oct!! (mine was 3 hrs. late cause of someone's complications- just hang in there--- your turn WILL come!!)    I wish you both the best -walk those halls, sip .sip, sip, & it won't be long before you will letting us know your successes!!!!. Wishing you both smooth surgeries- keep us posted!!
