I am SOOOOO Excited!!!!

Marianne, We just got home not too long ago. I'll put the IB adventure on another post...lol. Did you ask Dr. Bergman about tanning? I know the movie said that you should avoid the sun for 1 year so that the scars won't darken (I THINK that was the only reason they gave..???). I'm wondering if it is ok if the scars are all hidden by a swimsuit. Oh...from you initial consult to surgery, did you see her in-between? I'm just wondering when/how we will have a chance to ask a few other questions we thought of. Oh well, I can ask at the first post-op visit. I'm having it done regardless of the answers so doesn't really matter imediately anyway...lol Muscle pain...is that up higher than incision pain? And if you had an imaginary line from your breastbone to bely button, about 3" or so on either side of it? I am so glad you are doing so well!!! Sherri

Sherri, On the tanning I didn't ask but we are going to Vegas for a week stating October 8th. I figure as long as my scars are covered I am good to go. i don't typically "tan" as in tanning bed as I hav e malignant melanoma and only get natural rays from the sun with a good sunscreen on. I was so pleased last night......my stepson and daughter in law stopped by for a visit. I was showing he how well my incision is healing and she said I would look good in a 2 piece swim suit when I am all healed...imagine that!! lol My tummy is getting flatter every day and with my height I think I have more of an appearance of a waist. I ma not usre about the 2 piece suit but I was thrilled to hear it!  :o) The muscle pain is like the worst abs strain you can imagine. To sit up by control of your abs was unreal the first couple of days for me. Now I am moving like a pro. :o) The chest is sore from the implants being placed under the muscle and I think from all the tightening of the stomach muscles. After athe first week it is so much better. Even with my drain out I have not had any additional swelling so I am really pleased about that. I look better every day. the steri tapes are falling off some now and the itching is present but all looks really good! I am so glad you have Dr. Bergman. If you think you are impressed by her now....just wait until you see the magic she can work on you!  Have a wonderful day!! Marianne
