We had incredible thunder and lightning storm Wed night.  There was one strike that sounded particularly close to the house.  I didn't get a chance yesterday moning to check things out and when I got home yesterday I discovered one of the two concrete deer that we had under the walnut trees was blown in half.  Some of the pieces were found as far as 100 ft away.  The amazing power of mother nature.  Don't stand under trees in a light ing storm.  I posted a couple of pics.

Jan,  I hate to tell you this, but...it's not deer season.  And lightning is not an approved weapon even during deer season. Interesting note:  Lightning is positively charged and only travels a part of the distance when there is a strike.  It must connect with a negatively charged object for the strike to be complete.  Apparently your deer had a negative attitude.   So the lesson is:  be positive!  It will reduce your chance of being struck by lightning.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
