Saturday
Hello all! This has been a busy couple of days for us. Our daycare lady has been out sick. She is in the hospital in ICU actually. Sigh. That happened this spring. She was out for weeks. We went to another daycare temporarily. That one was a nightmare though. So we were glad to go back to her when she started working again. However, this keeps happening, and she works alone, so she doesn't have any backup plan. When she gets sick, we have to stay home with the kids. So we looked at other daycares. I feel like a heel for taking business away from her when she's already not feeling good, but we have to be able to work. I mean, we don't work for the fun of it, we both need our jobs. We went to four daycares and called several dozen. Found one t hat the kids seemed to like and met all our approvals. One we didn't even really consider, because she would only let us come by appointment, and the appointment was after the kids left. I thought that was just odd. So a tip for anyone doing daycare out there, parents want to see how you interact with the kids. Anyway, our kids will start at the new one on Monday.
Do you all remember me telling you we got a Chi-rat puppy this spring? I don't think I let you all know he didn't work out. Small dogs I guess can be kind of nippy, huh. We had to sell him to a different home that didn't have small kids. So we have been looking for another dog. My hubby has always wanted a St. Bernard. We found one on petfinder.com in a shelter in Kentucky. So since we were off anyway on Thursday, we drove the the shelter, to look at her. She is a gentle giant. We fell in luv. Cleo came home with us. YEsterday she got groomed. She had to be shaved down, because her coat was too matted. No one had cared for her in a long time. Today she's going to the vet. She's such a good girl. Huge, but good.
I am down 103 pounds now. It's incredible to me. I am down to a size 14. That's the smallest size I've ever been since wearing adult sized clothes. Wow.
Hugs,
Linda Vicory
Congrats Linda on the size 14!! Save those 16's for me

Good morning everyone! It felt SO good sleeping in our bed at home!! LOL!
Linda..good luck with the heart cath. I am going to be wondering about my 'food stuck' sensations from now on after reading your post last week about silent heart attacks.

Linda V....I got your text message. We were so wiped out by the time we got set up. It started pouring when we got to around Marshall...and it just kept up. After we got to the KOA, it eased up a little bit for us to get set-up. Up until the rain started, we were looking forward to that pool! Not after that temp drop though!!
I had to do the day care thing too when my kids were small. It can be hard to find a good one...and once you do, you don't ever want to leave them! lol!
We are going to go check out & pick up Louie on our way home from King's Island the 16th. Lisa (on here) posted about him a few weeks ago. He's a chocolate lab. We are really looking forward to it. We've been talking about finding a large dog for a year or so and everything about Louie fit our criteria (mainly Bill's criteria...my main one is he likes to be hugged..lol!).

We have a ton of running around to do this weekend. Then back at work 4 days. I know. 'Poor baby'...but those will be 12-16 hour days. Then Friday, we'll be hitting the road again.
Well..best get it in gear! You all have a good day!

Oh Sherri!!!! I'm SO happy that you were able to take him, I was worried he'd had to go to animal control. Labs are such loving dogs. I wish I could have another dog, but if the landlord didnt' evict me (we have a three dog max on our lease), Chris might divorce me!!! LOL.. We had to get a california king size bed just for the 5 of us to have enough room to sleep comfortably!
I hope someone can take the dog that Vicki found.
