We're back!

It seems funny that after so long of us WANTING water, all we had this weekend was Water!!! We left for Kentucky on Friday morning...after it raining Thursday night. After we got to Kentucky Kingdom & got set up, it rained. So...we waited till ~1-2 to go into the park. Then it rained all night Friday night. Saturday morning, it rained. We went to the park ~noon. We rode water rides and got soaked! The Mile High Falls is great! Then we ate. While eating, it started to rain! We were going to try to get back to the RV, but it started pouring so we went into this restaurant and waited it out (with a cup of COLD coffee!). It eased up enough for us to get back into the RV and we were soaked. It was ~8pm then. Then it rained all Saturday night. I got woken up in the middle of the night by a leaking roof! It was leaking into my closet and ALL of my shirts were soaked! So...I got up, cleaned up the mess and put a bucket to dump my water-catching bowl into. Bill? He slept. I kept dumping the bowl. By the time we left to come home, I had collected about 3 gallons! It did ease up on our way home at least. Then we get home. Not sure what happened but my fish tank had a melt down and all my fishes died! So...got everything in from the RV, then had to clean out the 35 gallon tank! I'm going to wait to restock it till this fall...and we'll be home to know if anything strange occurs. So..if you'all come over and see a waterless/fishless tank with all the other stuff in it, that is why. I checked Chance's little flower pot of watermelon seeds. He had ELEVEN starts!! So...I also weeded out the front under the picture window and transplanted them there. Not many people has watermelon growing there instead of shrubs, huh? Well..our idiot neighbor that does the lawn for us has a tendency to cut down veggie plants (2 tomato plants this season...and they are all in growing fencing!!). So..thought I'd put the melon plants in a location that he doesn't cut. I think starting in July, we'll be doing our own mowing anyway. Hmmm...to think, we just got home 3.5 hours ago! Think I've been a busy girl??? We did have fun on the rides we went on. We were interviewed by a reported over that incident where the girl got hurt there. That ride was still closed down. Hope you all have a fantastic week! Sherri

Wow - sorry about all the bad luck.  We had quite a bit of rain here too.  Our living room ceiling leaked again.  Floyd is calling the roofer tomorrow.  It's coming from the sky light in the loft and running down the attic and leaking through in the living room.  I want to know if he's going to paint my ceiling too.

You had some really cool fish too.  Did you have a powere outage or something while you were gone?  Maybe the pump or heater or something went bad.

Our garden is growing great.  We already have tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, red bell peppers, cucumbers and watermelons growing.  I can't wait to start havesting. Glad you got some fun in at the park.  I know there were probably a lot more rides calling your name that you didn't get to ride though.  Hopefully the next getaway will be nice and sunny and you can make up for it. Thanks for meeting us for dinner Thursday night.  It was nice spending time with you and Bill again.   We'll miss you this weekend but I know you will be having fun without us. Glad you made it home safely, Brenda

Hi Sherri,  I just read your post- gosh girl- what a bummer! Call the place you got your RV from & see what they say, did you get a warrenty at all?? It doesn't hurt to call and check it out. I know that there are many differant types of roofing on them. Gotta tell you I'm really beat! I had to go re-stock the pantry after we drove 400mi. home. We traveled on Sat. till we were bone tired. I hope your next trip is 100% improved the next time.I know you like water rides- but enough already, right?!! (((hugs))) Ellen
