I just got home from my appointment and am happy to say that the pain I was feeling is normal. The area effected is where they do the most work and my Dr. explained that there are extra stitches & staples in that area. Also, during the surgery they use an instrument to expand the area so their instruments fit. He said not to worry as long as I don't have any other symptoms. Told me I was a "perfect patient" and not to change anything I'm doing. I replied "I'm tired of being his poster child"...LOL I don't have to take those nasty cheweable multi-vitamins anymore and can graduate to Flintstones! I've lost 17.9 lbs since my surgery date of 3/14. BTW, he also like my new haircut...he-he! I'm very happy to *know* what is causing the pain and now I don't have any worries, other than the dread of going back to work...YUCK! Thanks for all your support! Judy

Jennifer, I hope this info puts your mind at ease about that nagging pain on the left side. I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets worse or you have additional symptoms like fever or nausea. My Dr & his nurse actually giggled when I told them about the pain. When I asked what was so funny, they both told me that's the most common complaint they hear at the 1st post-op visit. After a little bit of prodding they said everything is normal and going according to the process!
