Newbie
I am new to this whole process; however, I am scheduled for my psych. eval. on April 3. I am getting excited but I am trying not get my hopes too high. The bariatric coordinator at Clark Memorial Hospital said things are looking good, though.
A little bit about myself: I am currently 22 but I will be 23 on April 13. I weigh 460 lbs and have a BMI of 65. I graduated from college in May, started a new job and got married in September. Now, I am trying to make sure that I can live a long life with my new wife and our eventual kids.
I am trying to get the lap band procedure done. I hope I can get to know everyone and I would like to see if there is anyone in my area--New Albany.

Welcome Larry,
It's great to see new face and new loosers. Make sure you check out the LapBand forum/messageboard here on OH.com. There is a wealth of great information everyone can share with you about the band (info you probably didn't know about). There are also a lot of very successful banders on there. Some that have lost well over 200 + lbs. I got my band August of 2005. I lost 167 lbs before becoming pregnant about 3 months ago.
Good Luck
P.S. Don't forget to ask as many questions as you want. Everyone on OH loves to share information to make sure anyone searching any WLS is well informed.

Hi Larry,
Welcome to the board. You've come to the right place for support and information. I had the band installed 5 weeks ago and I'm doing great. #21lbs lost since the beginning of February.
Ask any questions you need and Jodi is right, the Lap-Band board give a lot of information and experiences.

Welcome Larry,
We just moved to Indiana in October and the people on this board is great. We've met many of them at clothing exchange and hot tub party.....so much fun. There's also a Men's Forum that is great. It seems like more and more new men posting and there's a wealth of information. Check it out at http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/men/. Good luck and keep in touch.

Larry
Welcome to the Hoosier Loosers board. You will find a lot of nice folks on here.
I was at your weight 16 months ago and had RNY surgery. I have now lost 207 lbs of ugly fat and feel great when I look in the mirror.
Hopefully all goes well for you in your journey. Remember we are here for you, so if you have any questions just throw them out here and someone will give you an answer.
As Floyd said there is also a Men's Board this is also great in getting answers to men specific questions.
Dan
