Lots of new folks! How about a mini-intro???
Hi I'm Carmen! I love this board and everyone on it. I am a stay at home Mom with eight kids. I am married to the sweetest man in the world! We have been together since I was 14. We have been married for 11 years. I am 5'7" and started this journey at 326lbs. I had rny on 4-18-06 and have lost 196 lbs. I weigh 130 lbs. and am struggling to not loose any more. I still have a hard time with head hunger and food issues. I also struggle with the fat girl head games. I can see myself in the mirror and I know what the scale says, but I still see fat. I feel very blessed to have regained all my health and physical fitness, so this next part of my journey is all about the head!! I get so much support and advice from my fellow losers here on OH and I too am glad to see all the new people.
I love the power of kindness and prayer! Each day I am amazed by the honesty and daringness to share that I find here on OH. I check in at least once a day often more. Some of my best friends have been met right here and for that I am thankful!!
I go to school, have a small dog named Leta, and spend countless hour shopping!! I have to buy new clothes for this hot body!! LOL But I also have 11 people to feed everyday so I am at the grocery store at least once each day!!! I love quick wit, and sarcasm, mixed with inspiration and kindness! I love all things pink and sparkly and try to wrap myself in total joy. My husband says that living with me is like living with a bubbly bottle of Prozac! We take weekend trips to nice hotels together for adult time and can be found lying in bed late at night talking and giggling just because we have so much to share with each other! I am blessed!!
I am finding so many new things out about myself that I could never put it all down now, so just read along with our daily threads and you will all soon feel like we are the oldest of friends!!
My Total loss 196 lbs.
IN total loss 1061 (way cool)
PS I will be having plastic surgery with Dr. Bergman on the 8th of March!!! (so excited)
Just had my surgery 1 week ago today. Been a member OH for about 7 mos. I am married 31 years and I am 52 years old. I have two grown children, one still at home and longing to get out on his own, and one married with 2 beautiful grandchildren and 1 on the way.
I have found so much help, support and information on this website and check daily to see what is going on although I probably lurk more than post.
I believe that God led me to this journey and He is with me through all of the ups and downs, so I put my trust in Him that all will go well and this will be a successful journey.

Hi, Everyone!!!!
My name is Tina Butler, 36 years old, and I'm 5'7"...just had surgery last week, Feb. 21, so I don't know yet if I have lost anything -- I'll know on Monday.
I am married to Denny for 3 years now, but have been with him for 8 years. I have two WONDERFUL children, Zach who is 14 and Lexi who is 9. I also have two step-children, Nicole who is 27 and Kenny who is 20. And we have a grandbaby on the way.
I love to country line dance, do crossword puzzles, and take drives with my family. I work full-time as a contractor at Lilly creating email accounts for them and have been there for 9 years. I am also on my daughter's school PTO and maintain their website. I love anything country, LOVE angels, and love candles!
I'm new on the loser's bench so I'm going to need LOTS of support. This website is AWESOME!
Hugs to everyone!
Tina

I'm Shellye. I am 38 years old, divorced with a 4 1/2 year old son, Jonah. I live and work in Kokomo. I am an insurance agent for AAA- you know the road side assistance and travel agency. If you live in Indiana and you would like a quote on your home or auto insurance, just email me swerbelow@aaahoosier. We have GREAT rates!
Ok so I am 5'3'' with a BMI of 50. I love photography and horses. I love to read. I have struggled over the years with weight. I have been overweight since 2nd grade. I don't know what it is like to buy clothes in a normal store...and frankly I like clothes shopping least of all because the items ALWAYS look better on the hanger rather than on me.
I have selected Dr. Cacucci as my surgeon for the RNY operation. I am faxing my paperwork to my insurance company tomorrow.
Okay, Im probably the grandma of the Indiana bunch of losers, but here I am anyway...
Im 59, will be 60 on the 11th, and had my LAP RNY on Spetember 14, 2005 through Clarian bariatric Center, at IU Hospital. I weighed 325 at the time, and to date have lost 130 pounds. I have had no complications and am off all medications, which for my age, is astounding.
I am married to Mike, who is 44, and between us we have 7 children, 5 inlaw children and 16 grandchildren. Mike is a minister, as well as manager of an automotive repair shop in Indianapolis. I retired from the Christian Music Industry last January. I was a music buyer for a large Christian Bookstore in Indianapolis for 13 years, so got to travel and meet all the singers and artists, it was great fun. As a result I have a roomful of music, everything from Christian rap to Christian Country!
I am a writer, and have had several things published, as well as Dramas and plays, and am the Singles Co-ordinator of our church, as well as Sunday School Teacher to teen girls. Thats a challenge but great fun!
We have a dog, a long haired chihuahua, not one of the tiny ones, his name is Taco,,( had the name when we got him...go figure),,,,and a cat named Misty who is quite spoiled. We spend a couple weeks in Pigeon Forge TN every year and have for years. Its our favorite place on earth, next to home.I sew, read, scrapbook and compute in my spare time.
I found OH almost 2 years ago, when I started researching the surgery. I was leanign towards the Lap band but changed my mind and opted for the RNY, and Im so glad I did. Im thankful for all the support I have found on this and other forums. I spend most of my time on the Over Fifty Forum, but come here daily as well.
Blessings
Betsy
Good Idea Sherri,
I am Linda Kay and had my surgery April 26,2005, I have lost 100 pounds so far. I was round .. 5'2" and 300 pounds =round.. I now have a neck and have gone from a size 28/32 to a 16 and I am happy.. My personal goal is one I have to actually work for now is another 75 pounds off...I'm 51 years young married 33 years. I have 2 wonderful sons and 5 grandkids. includeing 1 set of triplet grandaughters who are almost 3.
I work for the state of Indiana and used to like my job but dislike who I work with.. now I love who I work with but grow very tired with the routine of my job... go figure. I walk the tunnels during my lunch 1/2 hour and just walk the lobby during my 15 minute breaks.
I have met some wonderful friends like the sugar free queen Sherri, Angi, Dan and my two surgery buddies Julie and Peggy who never seem to post any more.. Peggy also works for the state so I get to see her once in a while..
I have signed on to be a secret angel/friend and am very excited to encourage my new friend...
Personally I love to read, crochet, and in the spring I will be outside working my flowers..

My name is Kylie I am 5'2" or 5'3" somewhere around there. I had my surgery 12-30-05 and am down 130 pounds or so but still need to get rid of another 35-40 pounds. This surgery has been a blessing for me and I would do it all again if I had too. I have been married to my husband Shawn for soon to be 15 years in July. We started dating when I was 15 and got married when I was 18. I have a 5 year old son Austin who is the joy of my life, although he can be a hethan child once in a while and he acts just like me. My mom always tells me that I am just getting paid back. I have a Shih Tzu named Bear who likes to aggitate Austin when Austin is not aggitating him. It is always non stop with those two. My mom lives with us and has since my dad passed away 2 years ago will be 3 in October. That was the worse day of my life. I was always a daddys girl and life has been hard without him. I think about him everyday and wish he could see me now. He would be so proud of me. I love the Colts and do watch nascar racing. I love teddy bears of anykind and am just starting to do some latch hook and will soon be trying to figure out scrapbooking since my husband bought be a scrapbooking kit for Christmas. I am not very crafty so we will so how that goes. Oh I also love butterflies and Angels and hummingbirds. My grandma loved hummingbirds and they just remind me of her. I lost her I January of 04 and my dad in October of 04 so that just was not a good year for me and my family. I think of them everyday and I have a shelf on my entertainment center that has a picture of just them on it and something of theirs on it. I make sure I talk about them to Austin and show him pictures of them becaus although he was 2 and a little over 2 1/2 when they passed I don't want him to forget them. Well that is my story.
