Winding up the pre-process
I'm finally winding up my pre-op visits at Northwestern. This has been a long and stressful process, as you know. I live in Indiana and my husband and I take off work once a month for my visits. I am one of those cases of being at the end of the line in terms of health. I am 5'2", 315 lbs. diabetic on insulin and oral diabetic medications. Dr. Nagle and my family doc say I am a "perfect candidate" for the gastric bypass. I met with Dr. Nalge, my surgeon, last month and was told that my paperwork has been forwarded to Anthem. I would appreciate talking with anyone who has encouragement, comments or tips for me. As it's getting down to the line, I'm nervous, excited, apprehensive....
Thanks, Lisa

I am also STILL 5'2. I was approved in a week with anthem and they have paid everything except the handful of vitamins i take a day. and the 500.00 in hospital co pay.. which my secondary insurance paid..
I also have 2 grandsons and a set of triplet grandaughters who will be 3 in June.
BEST Wishes on a happy Journey an uneventful one too!!

Thanks for relplying, Linda. I am so nervous waiting for the approval by the ins co. And when I read some of the postings and see the complications that can arise, then I'm soooo nervous.
I too have a bad knee and will need a knee replacement but was told not to have it done until I lose the weight. I have a year-old grandson and would dearly love to be able to play with him. Right now I can hardly lift him.
Thanks again for your encouragement. Keep it coming!
Lisa
