Physical Activity supervised for approval
I have been reading posts that state that to be approved for surgery they needed to have 6 months supervised physical activity along with the nutritional therapy. Is this common? I am worried that I will be declined due to not having this.
After I received my first declination I was told by the insurance company that I needed to have 6 months nutritional therapy along with an updated thyroid and THS screen done. I have completed these and have been told that my file will be reviewed tomorrow. I am just scared that since this was not disclosed to me six months ago that this might be a way for the ins. co. to postpone the process further.
Anyone else need this? Anyone get approved without it?
Most of the time it is 6 months of physician supervised weight reduction attempt. If you and your physican discussed diet & exercise, you're in there. I'm sure your doctor recommended some kind of exercise, even if only walking 10 minutes a day. All you can do is try it and see.
Best of luck!

It really depends on your insurance company. Make sure you have the letter that they sent you for denial outlining exactly what it is that you had to do to get your approval. If you have met those requirements, you might want to write a letter yourself explaining how you met those requirements. INsurance companies are fickle... sometimes you have to explain it to them in words a 2 year old could understand. I know I did.
Persistance!!!
