I second what Ellen said. I spent so much money before surgery on protein samples, crystal light, books, vitamins, etc. Ended up not using hardly any of it. Also be prepared to perhaps be lactose intolerent after surgery. I was slightly before surgery and very much so after. I couldn't tolerate the milk/dry milk combination from my surgeon at all. Now I get the majorting of my protein from Profect vials (3oz and 25g protein.) Just be warned about buying too much ahead of time!! Good Luck and welcome to the board!! Sam

Ken, I have about 4 bottles of the blue flavored Isopure. You are more than welcome to it..I also have some other protein mix that you add to water if you would like to have that as well. I live in Brownsburg.. Where are you? That is if you would like to have it. it is a start.. Dawn

Ken, GNC does have the Isopure drinks. We've tried all flavors and some are better than others, but that depends on your preference. Good luck! Floyd

I second the suggestion of Biotin. My mom had weight loss surgery last year & her hair dresser told her to use it. I started taking it right after my surgery in October & I have had minimal hair loss. My beautician also told me to only wash my hair every other day if possible. She said doing that & using the Biotin will help with hair loss. I just had my hair trimmed a couple of weeks ago & she said she didn't notice any abnormal hair loss. Also wanted to mention that not everyone can do the protein drink suggested by the drs. I coudlnt' tolerate it. So I worked with the dieticians & I did 8oz milk, 1 scoop of Whey Protein & 1/2 a container of yogurt for flavoring. I did fine on that & was getting in over 30 grams of protien with one shake. I still do one shake of these a day. Goodluck.

You can definately find the isopure at GNC but I would only buy one bottle until after surgery. I bought isopure and it was syrupy sweet for me. I prefer "Grand Slam 50" which you can buy at GNC and one can is 50 grams of protein. I drink the milk chocolate and it's pretty good, kind of like the premixed slimfast shakes. Also, I had my surgery on the 9th and I have been using citracal that I bought at Wal-Mart. I haven't had any problems with it and it also has flavors like carmel and chocolate. Good luck with your upcoming surgery and you will love St. V's, that is where I had my surgery and it was a wonderful experience.
