How long were you off work after surgery

I work in a bakery on my feet 6 to 8 hours a day . Some heavy lifting. A lot of bending

Tracy I would say 4 weeks if you can afford it. Tell your doctor what you do and how much you lift I was off for 8 weeks but I left over 80 lds. You can always go back sooner if you feel like it. Everyone is different, like jobs they are all different. Good luck Lisa B

I went back to work after two weeks, with a 10-pound lifting restriction. My restriction was lifted after my one month appointment with Dr. Inman. Linda Vicory

I took off 6 wks. Just because it was available for me. I felt good enough that I could have goen back after 2 or 3 wks. For my job it was easier to plan for the longest possible than try to get someone to replace me if I came back sooner and couldn't hack it. I don't do a lot of lifting but I do a lot of either bending or sitting in front of a computer. I don't have anyone working with me to relieve me if I couldn't do it. So I just used the 6 wks paid that I had saved up for.

I had my surgery on a Thursday, was released from the hospital on Sunday and was back to work on Tuesday. I also am on my feet 10-12 hrs daily but not much lifting. Hugsss, Tammy

Tracy, I agree with Lisa. I have been off 3 weeks and have another week off. It's not just a matter of physically being able to do it to me. There is so much planning and making sure to do everything you need to do. It was hard for me, but if you are a very very organized person then you might be okay going back as soon as some others. I know for me, I couldn't have until about 3 weeks. To me there is so much difference between people. Is your blood sugar, blood pressure okay? What is your energy level? You'll know more afterward.
