Hey guys and gals, I just got a letter today from my insurance company (Cigna) and it says the following: "If you authorize this party to represent you(My surgeons office) in making this appeak, you do not need to respond. However, if you authorize this party to appeal for you, you will not have another opportunity to appeal the coverage decision following the completion of the appeal process and any external review opportunities available to you. If you notify us that you revoke the authorization before the appeal process is completed, you can pursue any remianing appeal rights" WTF does that mean? Does that mean that if I let my surgeons office submit the appeal this is the last appeal that i can file? SO if they deny me this time I can't appeal it again and I also can't retain legal counsel? And it also asked that I have thr right to submit my appeal through the Department of Insurance Independent Meical Review System.. should I do that and does anyone know how I do that? HELP!!! I don't know what to do.... And if I call the insurance company they'll just lie to me. Love ya Jessyca
