Oh I am soooo craving garlic toast with cheese right now! I can't stop thinking about it. I wouldn't eat it, but boy it sounds good. Must be having some type of PMS. Oh well! Carmen

Ok so I couldn't get rid of the thought the whole time I was on the treadmill! So if you can't beat them join them! I made a different kind of "toast". I sliced a few peaces of eggplant and topped it with fresh garlic, gorgonzola cheese, and a tiny bet of olive oil. Roasted it until the cheese was melted and crispy. I am loving it and having no guilt. I also cut up on spear of asparagus and put a little of the topping on it, wonderful!! Have a crave free day, Carmen

Carmen, Olive oil is terrific...but for what you fixed, try spraying with a little bit of olive oil flavored PAM. PAM is terrific at cutting down fat & calories. When I'm craving french fries, I cut up a rutabaga into 'french fries', spray with PAM, and bake. After they are soft, I add a little salt and dip in ketup! Works for me! Sherri

That sounds awesome! I hated adding the 60 extra calories to the veggies, so I will get some of that spray. The stuff I have in the can tastes kind of bad so I will look for the Pam with olive oil flavor. I just happen to have a rutabaga in the fridge and now I know just what to do with it! I wonder if the kids will be able to tell the difference? LOL I'm not gonna tell them! Thanks, Carmen

Who buys rutabagas??? I don't even know what they are. Do they have those at Kroger?

Yes- I buy mine at Kroger or Mar****ry to get most of my veggies from Mar****hink they have a bigger selection and fresher produce, but it does seem to cost less at Kroger. I love turnips and rutabagas. I have also been eating a lot of kohlrabi and kahl. I love the root type of veggies, but don't want the carbs of the potatoes. They make a great substitute. Carmen

Where I come from, we leave the turnips in the ground and only eat the greens!! That really isn't a joke. I know I'm a hick. Carmen, how many cheesesticks is a 2 oz. serving--1 or 2?

All the cheese sticks I have seen are 1 oz. so if you want two oz. of cheese you would have to have two. I bought some frozen turnip greens and have them in my freezer; I just am not sure how to fix them. Any LF and LC suggestions? Carmen

I buy fresh ones, and have never had frozen. The canned are OK too. What I would do is boil them w/a little diced onion, salt, and pepper. Most people also add some bacon grease or some kind of smoked meat like bacon or jowl bacon or ham hock. Since you want to stay LF, I would season them with a little bit of chopped up ham shank or chopped up smoked turkey leg. My husband eats his w/vinegar. Some people eat them w/a little sugar. You can even dice up turnip and cook turnip w/them too. I like to mix turnip and mustard greens. They are also good stir-fried.
