Out Of The Box!
Ok so drum roll please! I just wanted to tell you all that I have opened the scale box and let it out. I weighed in and was so happy to see that the dial finally decided to move. I am happy to say that I only (lol) weigh 173 lbs. On my day of surgery I was 326. That means that I have lost 153 lbs. since 4-18-06 I love it! I have already surpassed all my expectations of surgery. My health is soooo much better and my size pleases me. I do hope to have a ton of skin removed someday, but I want to really work on toning and stuff for awhile first. I would really like to loose about 40 more pounds but if that doesn't happen I think I will be ok.
I think about all the things that have changed since surgery and the one that means the most to me right now is how I am able to remember to take time for me. I never felt like I was worth anything so I never did things for my health that I should have done. Now it's different and the best part of it is that as a busy Mom I don't even feel guilty about doing it. I used to feel like I was taking away from others and they would somehow suffer. But now I know that when I feel better so do they!
Life is grand, Thank you for being here for me,
Carmen
I may put the scale back in the box! I don't know just yet!
Speaking of taking time for yourself. When we go to Lexington we should get massages at the hotel if they have that...LOL
Everytime I go on a Cruise thats the first thing I sign up for. I used to get them at a gym here in town but then they moved and they were on the top floor of an old abanded factory. U had to climb 3 flights of stairs....so I just couldnt do that at the time. I may have to look back into that. I used to love my montly massages.
Speaking of which. Im getting my hair cut and colored on Wed. I need to get out today and buy some hair mags. so I can pick out a new DO. LOL

That's wonderful Carmen! Congratulations! I love that your daughter put the scale in a box. Too cute and thoughtful!! You are doing amazing...a true inspiration!!

P.S. Mariah have you ever had a hot stone massage? This place by my house started advertising them and with as cold as I've been they sound awful nice. I've never had a massage because I was too embarassed. Perhaps I'll change that
Eric did get me a coupon for my birthday!

Actually Sam I have a cousin who does hot stone massages. Ive never had an entire body hot stone massage just becouse I love swedish massages so much becouse they do so well at draining your lymph nodes, but like you if I am cold this winter I will consider it. Andy says I used to freeze him out and now we are pretty much about the same when it comes to temp. I told him not for long...I can see me freezing this winter if this wt loss keeps up...Its like a bear that losses his fur coat...LOL
I have an appt this afternoon for my pedicure. I almost forgot about it. My husband will think hes at hes at the wrong house when he comes home on Wed afternoon.
I dont think I have went and had a pedicure since I had surgery...since I was off work so long I didnt want to spend his money on that. So now Im back to my every 2 week apts. Im so looking forward to that even though I can reach my toes now and have been doing them myself. Its really great to get pampered!!!
Oh I love pedicures. I hate doing my own toes (and had trouble before.) I just love being able to sit back and relax. I wish I could afford the every 2 weeks schedule. I'm lucky if I can manage 1 a month!
So what are you thinking about doing to your hair? I am trying to let mine grow long. Do you think Biotin would help with the hair growth?
Sam
