Off to St V's I go..
I finally broke down and called the Dr about the severe stomach ache I get sometimes after I eat...( Had a real good one yesterday after lunch) The nurse called my cell phone on the way home from work yesterday and I have a Cat Scan at 5:15 AM then I am instructed to go to the office and wait for ithe results...
Thes pains are NOT in my stomach.. I would say my intestines... about my belly button... ANY way I will find out this morning what is wrong..
Linda
Sherri was right they couldn't see anything... BUT they left the IV in after the cat scan just in case they had to do emergancy surgery.. THEY didnt.. talked them out of exploritory surgery.. I want to ride in the Loop tomorrow...
She told me it COULD be intestinal ulcer... or more than likely adhesiions binding the lower intestines causing a narrowing. For the meantime I am to take previsid.. take VERY SMALL bites, and they will schedule the lap the next pain I get... she suggested I keep it small and moist...
Listen people she also said it COULD have been I was just reverting back to my old ways and taking to big of bites...Not paying attention... If we take to big of bites the stomach doesnt digest it it just moves on thru to the intestines until it hits the acid and gets digested further down.. if we take to big of bites it can get clogged up like a drain.. and hurt until it squeezes thru.. I am to be VERY mindful what I am doing when I eat... dont get disatracted
Personaly I think if it was big enough to make it thru my stomach drain it would have been ok in the intestines...
Thanks for careing
Linda
Linda,
I'm with you! If I don't chew my food up well enough, it won't make it past the stoma into the intestines much less getting clogged up later on. I could see where it might would be an intestinal ulcer/adhesion though...especially if the only time you have problems if after you eat. With my hernias, it didn't matter when or what I ate. I had switched to what newbies eat (cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, creamed soup) for awhile, and it didn't matter.
I can understand you wanting to wait for something special...that's why I'm waiting for the left foot till November (because of the OH conference)...but I do think you'll feel better afterwards. Especially if it is a hernia. I also had some scar tissue that was causing a blockage that was fixed at the same time. I was off of work 3-4 weeks.
Hope you're feeling better today,
Sherri
