Update.
Did the Pre-op testing last wednesday and the nutrition class thursday. It happened thursday as we broke for lunch, I got the call well all fear. My EKG came back abnormal and they wanted me to take a stress test and have an echocardiogram done also. So, after the class I hiked my butt over to the heart center. It was horrible. It took them 4 times to get the IV in and then they kept giving me this medicine that made my heart feel like it was going to jump out of my skin all the while taking pictures of my heart. After it was over the EKG tech said everything looked good, but it would have to be read by the DR. The ECHO tech wouldn't tell me ANYTHING about what she saw. The Dr. took a look at the EKG and said I was "free to go". I guess that's a good sign. Also, every one was saying "good luck with your surgery" so I took that as everything was OK. All I know is that I'm scared to death that something is wrong and the surgery will be postponed or cancelled. Heather from Dr. Cacucci's office said this happens a lot and there has only been one case in 4 years that an abnormal EKG has postponed a surgery. I hope I'm not number 2.
That's what happened last week.
Well, today Heather from Dr. Cacucci's office called and said that everything came back normal and the surgery is still a go for next wednesday. My surgery is scheduled for 9:00am. I'm so excited and can't wait to start this new journey of a lifetime.
Thats awesome Brian. Im so happy for you. Ive been wondering for a week or more now what had happened to you and if u had a date yet. Keep me posted silly.
I again called Steph today only to find out that they needed dr C's signiture on something. They said they faxed her on Sat. So I called their office and let a message but no one called me back yet.
Im hoping that is good news since I didnt just get a denile right off the bat. However my husband keeps saying I cant let my whole life stop till I have this surgery and not to put all my chips in one basket. He sounds like my grandma with all his oldtime sayings....lol. He just so afraid I will be so disapointed when and if I get a denile...HES RIGHT...I WILL BE.
