Surgery Date

I finally have a surgery date it is July 6th. I can't gain any weight from the time I seen the surgant tell the day of surgery. I hope I can do that. I have started swimming in Michigan to keep up with my excerise. I am trying to keep the weight off. Its not easy. I have my scope on June 7th and will return to Indiana for a few weeks then it is to my primary Dr. then back to MI for the dietion appointment and the pre-surgery checkup. Then my surgery on July 6th with Wayne (Dr. Wayne VanderKlok) He has a very pleasant personality. I had him laughing about my experiance with Tylonal with codine. Mom and I took a tour of the Hospital, it is very nice and clean and designed to a commidat over weight people of any size. My scope is at a differant hospital and we checked that out to. I found out that I could pre registor for my scope at that time. I would have posted sooner but the computers at this library have a filter on them, that would not allow me to post. The library I usually use dose not. The weather in MI is hot today. It has been cool and rainny for the first week and then cool and sunny for the second week and know it is sunny and hot. Snugglebunny, I am so happy for you !!!!!!!! I have faith you won't gain any weight, you have worked so hard and I bet prayed a lot too to get approved and get a date set. Congrats! July 6th will be here in no time! From the date that I saw my surgeon till the date I had my surgery, I went from 352 to 344. I had heard stories of people who ate themselves silly that month before and so they not only gained weight, but also threw their sugars way off so their surgery had to be delayed. That kept me from going over-board. Why are you having to have a pre-op scope? Enjoy the drugs...and forewarn your mom that you will probably talk in a loop until they wear off. When I have a scope, my hubby & daughter has it down pat on what I'm going to say... "Was I closed up? How big was I? Was there an ulcer? Did I perf? Is there pictures? Let me see the pictures?" They hand me the pictures, I glance at them, snooze for a few minutes, and then the cycle repeats itself. I think it repeats 5-6 times before I start to realize that I've already asked that. Did I understand it right that you're having your surgery in Michigan? I take it that is due to your insurance...? My sister was a nurse at a hospital in Terre Haute at the time of hers and they made her go to Nashville, TN for hers. Nuts! Sherri

Congrats on the surgery date! I know how hard it is waiting on approval and all that. I also am feeling your pain about gaining weight. I had lost about 32# on Weigh****chers and am trying hard to keep it off. I think it is helping that I am walking. It was recommended to start walking before surgery so that way it's not so hard to get in the habit after surgery. Also was told by some that it helps speed recovery. Good luck to you on your surgery!
