Food Question for the Experts :o)
Hello My Beautiful & Handsome Fellow Losers!
I have a question....now that I am introducing new foods into my daily diet I am interested in what amounts of fats and carbs that you usually take in. For instance, I know I am to get 75 grams of protein in a day and 15 grams of fiber. What are the numbers you go by for fats and carbs? I am trying to break out of my soft food comfort zone and yet stay legal I am kinda at a plateau right now and think my body is regrouping. I am down about 2 and a half pounds since coming come...Vacation was a strain on my food requirements and I came back feeling like somehow I blew my diet....the old way of thinking rears it's ugly head. I always question myself as to if I am eating enough....and the right foods... I always get my 75 grams of protein in daily and my fluids are up to par so I am happy with that. I find that now that I am at 4oz meals my pouch is really doing much better and I love that I can actually get a couple of swallows of liquids in now. I made spaghetti with ground turkey and I did pretty good...I added beef meatballs and suprisingly they went down really well..I kept the amounts small and was so pleased. I am so grateful to those that have been down this path before me and continue to share their information gathered on their journey with those of us following behind. I am at 70 pounds down now at 3 and a half months so I am so blessed. You all have a Glorious Day!

Marianne,
I stay within a guideline of 1200 - 1500 calories, 65 - 75 grams Protein, and I try to keep my trans fat, sodium, and carbs as low as I possible can. If I can subsitute one ingred for another that's higher protein I will. But mostly I cook alot of vegentarian meals (from cookbooks and cooking shows) because they stay within my dietary guidelines. I don't know if that's the kind of information you're looking for - but I thought I'd offer my two cents worth.
Thank you so much Jodi! I am for all the information I can get! I loved wearing the gorgeous suit and coverup in Vegas...I didn't get any picture at the pool but I promise Jon will get some of me in it on our next trip. I hope all is going good for you! You are such a sweetheart and I so enjoyed meeting you at the exchange. I think you are much better at the food thing than me...I can honestly say I cook very little....My hubby loves to cook and I let him! lol I ususally have different meals than him to go along with my requirements. I tend to go with the quick, easy and simple foods...lol I guess that makes me quick, easy and simple too!! HUH?? lol Have a wonderful holiday weekend Beautiful!

Marianne,
Here's what I was told by the dieticians:
1200-1400 Calories (1000-1200 if I don't do any exercise that day)
80-100 g protein (60-80 if I don't do any exercise that day)
More than 100 g Carb
More than 30 g Fiber
Less than 30 g Fat
At Least 64 oz water (I usually get ~140 oz)
For exercise, I walk 5-10 miles a day (depends on how my foot feels), 24 minutes on a stationary Bike (Heels only) 3-5 times a week, 10 different strength exercises 3-5 times a week.
My weight has been at a standstill since January, but I've lost 8" and went from a 14 to a 10/12 in that same time period.
I would drop your dietician a note and ask her for specifics for you.
Sherri
Sherri, Thanks so much for the imput. I am going to email the Nutritionist and see what she says. I knew you were good but my goodness what an exercize program! You are certainly excellent! I just walk and lift weights for my arms. Unfortunatly....some of my walking is at lunch.....walking around the circle center mall at lunch time ....it is starting to get kinda costly...lol I think I need a different scenic route! Thanks again for the imput! Have an Awesome Weekend!
