Thanks! When I started this process, MPlan required 18 months of requirements. Since the law changed, now it is only 6 months. The plan is really comprehensive. There is a 12 week WLS group with a social worker that addresses emotional issues related to food pre op and post op. I met with a dietician every month. I had to have bloodwork done to monitor cholesterol and blood sugar every 6 months. I had to attend some type of support group such as TOPS or Weigh****chers every week except when doing the 12 week group. Now I have to meet with the surgeon, have the psych eval and set the date. The copay is $1000 and that covers all the pre and post op evals and support so I think it's a fair price. And the Clarian Bariatric Center is wonderful! All the people there are so nice and the support group is very helpful.

I used to have MPLAN. I got denied 3 times for the consulation. They kept saying it wasn't "medically necessary". hmmmmm, I switch to anthem and was approved in 6 days the first try. I work for the state and their coverage was great. If I could have gotten approved, there wasn't any co-pays and the surgery was covered 100%. Then on jan/1/06 the governor decided that I didn't need that insurance anymore and cancelled it. oh well, I can't really complain, Anthem's co-pay is on 500.00. Again, Congrats on your approval and I hope everything goes well for you.
