Hi Kris,

I'm packing my things as I seen your reply. LOL.  I like to be as prepared as possible, so am
packing what I can right now..

I'm going up there Sunday so I can be there Monday morning ready to go as requested, although surgery isn't until 12:30!  The worst of it will be the no water/food from midnight Sunday
on til after surgery!!

I guess now I don't feel so much nervous as resigned and determined to see it through.  I have a peace about me that I know is coming from the good Lord  to trust in Him and the experience of the surgery team...

I'm hoping to be released on Wednesday,  so I will go ahead and say my best wishes and prayers for you now also.  I know it is going to be a wild week for both of us but I will try to post as soon as I'm able.  See you on the Loser's bench !!!

Diane

Made it to the Century Club!!! Yeah!!

Terry,

I'm so glad that all my pre op's are over! I came home from there looking like I had been in a fight. My arms were so bruised from being stuck so many times to try to get blood. I still have a large bruise on my arm, from where they finally did get blood, and that was a week ago yesterday!!!

All that's left for me is my surgery on March 3rd. I'm getting nervous!!!  How did your stay at St. Vincent's go? I'm trying to prepare myself on what to expect!!!

Hope you're doing well.

Diane,

How are you? Sorry it's taken me so long to get back with you.
Are you ready for your big day?!!!
I'm getting nervous  as my day approaches quickly!! I went to my all day nurtrition class on Thursday, the 24th. I enjoyed the class. Crazy huh?  lol  It was like being back in school! lol...
I think I'm just about ready for Thursday. (my big day!!). The only thing I have left to get is some SF jello and SF pudding. Other than that, I'm all set.

I wish you all the best of luck for Monday. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I know how you feel.  I've been researching WLS for a long time, but what really got my ass in gear was last September when a blood test showed I am type II diabetic.  That scared me ****less.  I take 2 500 mg metformin a day and with better eating and exercise have lost 45 pounds.

I have a looooong way to go but I just don't feel that I'm done with what I can do.  I'm scared of what life would be like after WLS.  My parents really want me to have it and it's hard for me to stand up to them but I have to tell them, I can't do this for you.  If I do it, I have to do it for me.  And I know that I have to want it 110% or not only will it not work, it will ruin my life.

Hopefully as I continue to lose, please God, and keep it off they will trust me better.

This is the first time I have ever really tried to lose weight.  Thinking about my feet turning black and having to be amputated is a real motivator.

Having said all that downer stuff, it is great to be able to stand and walk longer and with less pain!  And I am down a jeans size and all my clothes are getting bigger!

Now if we can just get it to stop f#cking SNOWING!!

Topic: RE: Duane has passed away
Duane and Alisica were some of the first people to reach out to me in the WL community.  Duane was always an encouragement to strive to do well with my WLS and his commitment to his health and well being were amazing,.  His passing is a huge loss to all who knew him and all those that will not benefit from knowing him.
If anyone is passing through Martinsville and would like to meet and car pool to the Service on Saturday please let me know.

I am only one, But still, I am one.  I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do
the something that I can do.

Duane always made one feel so welcome at the meetings and he and Alisica always sat in the same spot every month! He was so proud of being able to move about and do what he had set his mind to do. So sad for her!

Thinking so much about them and especially how Alisicia is feeling since there are so many similiarities with Lyn.  I can really empathasize I am hoping I can find a way to contact her.  They were an awesome couple and the love and happiness just radiated from them.  It was obvious they were best friends.
