Topic: I'm so lost
It's been a about a year since I have been on this site.  I am so fusterated with my weight loss (or nonweight loss).  I had the Lap Band done in Nov 09 and it has been a thorn in my side ever since, literally.  I lost 27 lbs at the beginning but have put 35 back on.  I know the band is a tool but it has completely failed me.

But I am ready to get back on this weight-loss band wagon.  The only thing I am clueless as to where to start.  I could tell anyone else how to lose weight but when it comes to me, I have no clue...maybe thats why I never really lost any.

Have any suggestions or ideas please let me know.

Topic: RE: Gout after RNY???
I have never had Gout, so I don't have any advice. Did you suggest it could be gout to the doctors at the hospital? I hate it when medical professionals don't pay attention to us when we say there is something wrong.

I hope your family doctor can tell you something useful tomorrow.

 Hi,

We all need friends! Having friends that know whats going on and understands the path we have chosen to take is wonderful. I suggest you try to go to some of the support groups in your area. Depending on who you are having your surgery through, they are all over the state.

Congrats on the 10%, its hard to lose weight on our own, if it were easy, we wouldnt be getting the surgery!

Hello, You are staring out on a great journey. I wish you well and great success. I am 6 years out and glad I made the journey. I had a great doctor who I still see when things get tough. The more years you are out the harder it gets. At least for me. I know you can do it. Keep up the great work. I will be praying for you in the next few months up to your surgery and after.
God Bless, Debbie

Thanks!  I'm doing good, just trying to stay on track so I don't accidentally gain any until the surgery LOL.  I'm glad there is an Indiana message board, I can almost smell the corn on here

Topic: Gout after RNY???
So I have arthritis & normally have weak joints, but I woke up Wed morning in extreme pain in my right ankle/foot, I have NEVER been in this much pain, I cannot move or stand anyone touching my foot, its red & swollen. Went to ER, nothing broken, & they pretty much booted me out the door & referred me back to my primary doctor with no testing. Gout does run in my family & have been told this can happen months after rny, but its killing me!! waiting till monday to get an appt with my doctor. Any suggestions since we cant have NSAIDS???

I'm new!  I need friends.  How is everyone?  I'm hoping to get surgery within the next couple months, now that I've lost my required 10%    I can't wait!

Topic: Couch to 5 K anyone?
I've seen posts about a program called couch 25k and was curious if anyone has tried it?  The website I got it from is coolrunning.com.  I am on week 1 day 3.  Is anyone else up for the challenge?  I'd love to have company on my journey!

Thanks,
Stephanie E

Topic: Losing it the second time
I regained weight due to steroids.  I am 8 years post op.  It is so much harder to lose the second time around.  I gained 90 pounds and have been able to take off 60 pounds.  I am curious if there is anyone else out there that has had success losing it again and if so how did you do it?  Did you go back to the basics?  I use a website called myfitnesspal.com to track my food and exercise.  I haven't lost any weight for a month now and have been working out harder than ever!  Any input is appreciated!
